Beside… don't worry about road noise, that's why car radios where put in!

Very true, I'm not overly worried about noise, I just know some can be crazy loud, and would like to avoid those if I can.

Re: Tire Comparison
Most of the time the really loud road noise is from either: a) hard compound tires and/or <img src='http://www.canadianhummerclub.com/forum ... >/cool.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='B)' /> very aggressive tread patterns.
Toyo Open Country's and Mickey Thompson MTZ's are what a lot of the pickup truck guys use and sing praise about how quite they are, the great tread life & aggressiveness of them. Myself included.

If you are going to go off shore/ None North American . Toyo/Nitto - Hankook - Maxiss are the way to go . Also budget is always a factor .

Re: Tire Comparison
Brian, I would go across the border to get new tires and install them there, that way they would be a lot cheaper! I mean since you're so close to the border. (lucky jerk). I wish I could do that but the amount I would use in fuel would negate my savings.

Re: Tire Comparison
I buy all my tires out of the states ...even paying 600 bucks in shipping is cheaper then getting them in Canada ...I just ordered some 38" Mickey Thompson MTZ's ..seen and heard these are a good all around tire ...although I have to say some of you guys need to get the grannie panties off , the humming of the tires is the best part ..louder the better ..in fact I'm gonna miss how the nitto mud grabblers sound on pavement lol just giving ya a hard time , to each there own ..I love tire slap lol

I haven't even priced them in Canada yet, I have actually been pricing them on line, then seeing if Amazon has them, I get free shipping with my account there even on tires I do have a connection in Canada, but will wait until I have narrowed down my search to get him to give me a price.

Re: Tire Comparison
Someone recommended KM-2's along the way... I don't reccomend them, as they are what I have on now and not too happy with them. They wear fast and don't stand up to the abuse all to well. Mine are cupped and out of round so I get quite a shake at highway speeds.... I am hard on them offroading but they should be able to take it....
I'm looking at the coopers in the fall if budget dictates, and I to plan to buy out of the states...Canadians like to rape Canadians.... It's not even funny...
Goodyear mtr's are awesome for traction, but I have read a lot of complaints that they only last 10k Kms before they are worn out... Read that several times and my experience with Goodyear is the same so I won't touch those.... But they are great while they last!
