On July 1 there is going to be a Canada Day parade in Port Credit and my friend Ken Crosman from the yellow ribbon cruise event has asked if i could find 2 H1's to participate in the parade. Of course Hummers in an actual parade would be awesome and I have already said i would do it but we need 1 more. Any takers???
This is the email from Ken
Good afternoon.
As we discussed on the Warplane Run - I have a request for 2 Hummers for the Canada Day Parade - 1st July
The parade organizers have approached me for a local business in Port Credit - Army Issue.com
Let me know if you still would be interested and available and I will hook you guys up.
Also, I will have room for others in the Port Credit Arena Parking lot after the parade.
Let me know and we'll go from there.
Cheers
Ken

If I wasn't going camping that weekend I would definitely go. It's not too far from me. <img src='http://www.canadianhummerclub.com/forum ... nfused.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='

Re: July 1st parade Port Credit
I have been in touch with the guy who is sponsoring our part of the parade event. His name is Jeroon. I am going to drive out there next week to meet him in person. Anyway he runs a army suplus store in port credit. http://armyissue.com/
The plan is we are going to be dressed up in soldier garb items from Jerrons's store for the parade. He sent me pics from the 2010 parade. They cancelled last year because the Hummers never showed up.
So far i have not been able to find another H1 so i am the only one so far. News worthy and historical event folks, i thought i would be able to get 10 Hummers. LOL I guess our H1 owners are shy if asked to be the center of attention!! LOL
I have a attached a few pics from the 2010 event.
Here is a copy of his last email to me:
Hey Kevin Thanks for the reply!
I sent you a whack of Pics so you'll get the Idea. 2010 we ran 1 Hummer and my Jeep Patriot. The hummer in the photo's was supplied by the Parade that year. I have a few guys that play Airsoft and the girls work for my wife. We were handing out chains to come get free dog tags at the shop, and for a $5 donation to the Royal Canadian Legion we'd stamp your name on it for you. I need at least one hum-vee two would be great! Your truck rocks man. We were suppose to get two last year. We planned to do things a little differently but things fell apart at the last minute.
Karen called me and about participating again this year and I'm not making any calls till I know for sure that we have the minimum 1 Jeep 1 Hummer.
What the plan was for last year was a ton of guys in Combats and the Girls again but I would not be driving the truck in the parade, I'd be at the shop stamping out the Dog tags and collecting a ton for the Legion. ( we missed a lot of people as the shop was closed while everyone was in the parade.) The guys were suppose to be doing a VIP vehicle escort and the crowds loved our guys all decked out the CF doesn't do this kind thing. A few blocks thought we were the Canadian Forces and slowly applauded as we went by. We are trying to figure out how to avoid that this time around. I'm hoping you'll be available to drive your hummer and get a chance to come in before hand and we'll put you in to some Combats as well.
The Club mate with H3, thanks but this is not about hummers it's about an Army Surplus Shop that kicks your ass. If you could land hands on a Desert Dune buggy or any modern vehicle that you'd find in a Army Combat video game I'll take it.
Let me know if your coming down some time and we'll have a better understanding of whats going on and how the planning goes. Thanks Kevin
Cheers
Jeroon
It would be nice to find another H1 for this!!! <img src='http://www.canadianhummerclub.com/forum ... /wavey.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':wavey:' />
All the info about the parade http://paintthetownred.ca/
Our entry for the Hummers will be paid by Army Surplus so we don't need to worry about that. There are parade rules here

Just because I drive a HUMMER don't mean I don't care about the planet.... in fact it means I can get to most parts without any help!

Re: July 1st parade Port Credit
This event is coming together quick. As of yet not been able to find another truck and we are getting down to the wire. Been registered at the event so somsbody was nice enough to pay the 200 bucks float entry fee for the Hummer and Jeroons wife just emailed me and said to come into the store for some free fatigues and army wear for the event which i get to keep after.!!!. I will be parking infront of the army surplus store for photo ops after the parade as well.
Next year i will register the CHC club in the event with lots of notice so we can get a good turnout. This year we are hoping to raise around 500 bucks for the local legion but i think with some planning we could do a whole lot better with the chc involved.
Anyway this is the last call for any H1's that want to take part in this. <img src='http://www.canadianhummerclub.com/forum ... /wavey.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':wavey:' />
