I understand the idea behind the winch, but I think at that angle it would have come out easier and faster with out it. Would also help if all three jeeps were pulling in the same direction instead of out the side. Cripes the red one is really going off on it's own. They should have just called a damn Hummer! <img src='http://www.canadianhummerclub.com/forum ... cheers.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' />

I disagree, the winch kept the front end from dropping or digging further, which could have resulted in ripping off the full front axle assembly (Ive personally seen it happen on stucks off ledges like that). The winch would have better been used in conjunction with other winches (as opposed to straps), as it would have allowed for a better, slower, controlled and more methodical recovery, but I wouldnt say the one winch line was a bad idea. Standing where he was, WAS a bad idea, but thats neither here nor there.
ya hesh , a buddy showed me a video the other day where all these people were standing around watching this guy pull another guy over a steep hill with a strap and it snapped and killed 2 people just like that ...its soooo dangerous to stand that close
