Sooooo I went to the woodbridge meet last night and met some old friends and met some new ones <img src='http://www.canadianhummerclub.com/forum ... ght_on.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':right_on:' />
I had to leave early because yesterday was my sons 11th birthday and promised to take him out for dinner. I hadnt got 2km up the road when both belts on my truck came off and I lost everything, brakes, steering.... the works!
I called Derek and before I knew it, he was on his way home to pick up a new belt and bring it back. within 35 minutes of the first call we had it installed on the side of the road and I was on my way to my sons birthday dinner <img src='http://www.canadianhummerclub.com/forum ... SMILEY.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':woot:' />
Driving a HUMMER is one thing, but being part of the CHC family....... now that is so much more <img src='http://www.canadianhummerclub.com/forum ... ght_on.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':right_on:' />
So, Derek once again thank you from me and one very happy young boy (even though I turned up covered in dirt and grime) we had a blast last night and that my friend is in no small part to you and Julie and the best club in the world.
PS;
has anyone else ever noticed that you always break down when you have no tools, spare parts and are wearing flip flops and <img src='http://www.canadianhummerclub.com/forum ... oflmao.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':rotflmao:' /> shorts
Big Thank you to Derek

Just because I drive a HUMMER don't mean I don't care about the planet.... in fact it means I can get to most parts without any help!

Anytime brother...seeing you up on your hood, climbing in your engine in flip flops was priceless! Just glad to help!
Glad you made it home and to the dinner!

Awesome! Always good to hear people helping out each other. Excellently said as well, CHC is more than just a club, to some of us!
And Idk Martin..last time I broke down, was 10:30pm, side of the highway..flat tire..in dress atire(dress shoes, pants, tshirt). Had to crawl around in the dirt in my fancy clothes. <img src='http://www.canadianhummerclub.com/forum ... lleyes.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':rolleyes:' />

This brought a huge smile to my face! Not because you broke down, but because I know CHC members will go above and beyond to help each other out. <img src='http://www.canadianhummerclub.com/forum ... ght_on.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':right_on:' />

Yes, the Boss is truly great...when he saw that there were 2 gas cap inside the fuel filler compartment, he just said, " what the hell is that ? " and right away he took a screwdriver and pry out the original gas cap that has no lock on it.
Thank you again Derek for helping me,(the freshman member) <img src='http://www.canadianhummerclub.com/forum ... iggrin.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='

Re: Big Thank you to Derek
My older son who comes out with us at times, just stated how lucky we are (we as in myself and Smasher) to be involved in great forums/clubs. Me with CHC, and Smasher with his Ford Ranger Forums (and CHC). He drive a Dodge durango and thought it would be helpful to be part of a Durango forum because of the fun and assistance we get from our connections... but he tells me, and I quote, "unlike your forums, the Durango members are just a bunch of douchebags"
So there you have it, and Derek's actions on the weekend confirm it! <img src='http://www.canadianhummerclub.com/forum ... ght_on.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':right_on:' />
