Hi, I need an advice for an oil change interval,
The last oil change was performed in November of last year, using Royal Purple Synthetic oil.
Total kilometers driven since last oil change : 400 km
Do you have to change the engine oil every 6 months even though the vehicle was driven for only 400 km ?
Thanks
Oil change interval

Re: Oil change interval
I change my oil every 7K and I use Castrol synthetic.. as for timing.. well I think you should drive your truck more then 400 KMs in that period of time to begin with

Re: Oil change interval
Set intervals are for various oils and types but these should be concidered as guide lines only the type of driving or non driving should be concidered. Moisture and dirt are the big bad destroyers of oil or more correctly the additives (some do evapourate as well ) so balance the cost of an oil change with filter against the cost of an engine job.
Best tool for the job the OIL STICK check the level frequently even right after an in shop oil change and look at the oil is it burnt ,cloudy, gritty, etc if it is CHANGE it and ask if shop has analizing labs they can from a sample give warning of major repairs which if fixed early can save your truck.
