DRL Mod
Does anyone have pics / details on the DRL Mod? I'd like to wire up my DRLs so that they stay on when my headlights come on - ideally I'd like to wire a switch in so I can turn them on / off when the headlights come on; this way, they would behave like regular fog lamps.

Re: DRL Mod
I did something a little different.
I wanted complete control so what I did was install new LED DRL's (18 watt) and utilized the stock wiring for that. I then installed a switch in the dash that utilizes the main lights power supply wire which activates a relay which powers the pre-fuse side of the DRL fuse in the fuse box. That way the switch cannot provide power to the DRL's unless the lights are on. When the lights are on - the DRL supply stock wires are not energized thus I can never get double power going to the DRL's. I don;t think it would matter with LED's - but I figured better safe than sorry...

Re: DRL Mod
Khamul, what are you using for the LED lights? Are these "bolt in" replacement lights for the stock DRL housings or did you hack / mod them in there yourself?

Re: DRL Mod
lol.... Bolt in replacement??? Who u kidding??
Don't laugh.... I took those 18w flood LED's u get off eBay (buddy of mine uses them and I like how they look so he got me a couple on his last order) . They have the molded bracket on the bottom to mount like a standard offroad light. So I took my Dremel and painstakingly cut that off so it was just round, drilled 3 holes into the back of the DRL socket in the bumper and used the screws that the lights came with mounting into the back of the housing (flush mount basically).
It was a pain lining up the holes for drilling, other than that.... It was very easy! Just slow....

figured as much - were you able to use the OEM wiring at least or is that all spliced in?

Re: DRL Mod
Spliced for now... I'll be adding a few small LED's as well so once done, I'll put in a quick disconnect plug so I can take the bumper off and on..
Oem plug is only for oem lights so no way to use...
