H2 07-08 External Tire Rack

Post by wankeled »

I should have done more research! I bought an external OEM tire rack off of an 07 H2. It will not fit my 03 H2 without drilling into the rear bumper for the 3rd bolt hole passenger side and the soft rear bumper part for the license plate electrical (I did see a few posts that you can make it work but not enough detail).

Comes with the mount, License plate with wiring harness.

As such, unless if someone can save me the hassle, I have this up as follows:

1) trade/swap for a 2003 compatible external tire swing mount. Preferably the Predator but I'm open to options.

2) or for $500 (I paid $600).

3) I guess I could add if there's write ups out there for me to get this installed that would be most ideal. I'm prepared to drill/tap into the bumper as long as I know the electrical will work.

Thanks in advance

The 05+ tire carriers are tough beasts and I would never go for a 03-04 carrier, which were made by another company for Hummer and are badly made, hard to operate and break easily. Drilling 1 hole and connecting the wires through the plastic takes a few minutes and is worth the effort <img src='http://www.canadianhummerclub.com/forum ... /smile.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':)' /> If you have any questions, let me know. I installed mine last year and couldn't be happier. Cheers, Indy.
