Yeah our club has a pretty good track record of getting trucks out to the road no matter what, I always take comfort in that fact. There really is no other club I trust as much!
haha, yeah I ordered a snatch block today too... and a new controller for my winch!
I guess our next run will probably be in the snow.... excellent!

It is amazing just how much recovery gear you can use all at once. And although that wasn't exactly what I was picturing when I was thinking about going wheeling for the day I did learn a hell of a lot, and had a great time. It's things like this that I think build the character and strength of the entire team of guys that go out on the trail together.
Also makes me feel better knowing that when I break down (which will happen one of these days) that I'll be able to count on the being able to make it back to the road one way or another. And a couple snatch blocks I think will have to be on order as well, don't have one and those are handy. Although for next summer I think I'll plan on just camping the night up there. We pulled into my driveway at 2:30 am and Travis and I were just done.
What time did the tow truck finally show up?

Bman is right ..that tow company was brutal . JL had to drive me to cell phone reception b/c they wanted to talk to me , even though you guys talked to them already ...but they promised me the truck was on its way . so by the time i got back to my truck it was 10:45pm and i figured they would get there no later then 11:30pm ...well now its 1am and nothing ..I figured the driver got lost or just said screw it . So told the nephew we might be sleeping in the truck and Ill walk to someones camp in the morning ...but then i realized i still have the onstar in my truck , Im not a member but i would have gladly paid a years dues right then and there to get some help out there lol ...but about 15 mins later the flatbed showed up ....and wouldnt you know it , it was the same guy that has picked me up the last 2 times ..when he got out of his truck he even said "I thought it was probably you' lol ..so when he dropped us off at 6:30am in Edmonton I said "you're a nice fella , but i never wanna see you again" lol ....I was soooo tired but i couldnt go to sleep ...had to get a car to use while my truck is down , get my mechanic down to look at it to see what parts i needed and then figuring out when i can get another flatbed to bring it to my mechanics (its at my work right now) ...Im waaaaay to old to stay up that long without sleep ...Im still feeling it lol

no Dave no worries ...I told you guys to all leave ...we had lots of fuel , water , food ...it was there dispatch b/c when I talked to him on the phone he didnt seem to understand whats going on ...saying someones suppose to meet the driver at a totally different place and then telling me that they are probably gonna tow me to cochrane for the night and crash in a hotel and back to edmonton on sunday , which was fine by me , but when the tow truck driver arrived (happy is his name lol) he said he just finish a job in calgary and he had no problem driving me back to edmonton and even said 'I dont know why they told you that"...I will say he did drive like a madman on those gravels roads ...certain body parts were puckered up a couple times lol ...And I really think Im gonna get the onstar hooked up ..last time we were in that same spot and i used dennis' onstar to call the tow truck ..I think 100mins was fairly cheap .
Oh was gonna say i was looking at the carnage today and you know what i can reuse the pitman/idler arm cognito support kit and the pitman and idler arm actually look like they are not damaged at all ...Im still gonna replace them b/c I snapped that sector shaft in the steering box like a twig man ...Ill feel better with new ones in and Ill use the old ones as trail spares but ya that cognito kit really does make it strong as hell

Yeah we saw the tow truck go past us so I didn't worry too much after that... not sure why it took the guy so long to get down to you.

There is a suction cup kit you can buy for like 40$... apparently it will stick on for speeds as high as 200mph.
