Hello everyone, I have not been on here in awhile, but I would like to ask a question..... if someone has a quick minuite could they go on the Vikar chevrolet website and take a peek at the 2006 H2 for sale and give me a thought or 2? I have an H3 I really like and plan to keep, (bought new) I have reservations about used 4x4's, I wanted an H3T Alpha (really really hard to find a good one). Anyway, thanks for your time. http://www.vickarchevrolet.ca/used-inventory/index.htm

Re: Used H2
Same year and color as mine!
I dunno, could a gamble with the mileage. If the vehicle has service records and has had the major maintenance items done when they should have been, then surely the truck has many many years of life in it. I think around 80,000km is the interval for getting all the fluids changed on the H2 so it's already coming up on the next major service. Unfortunately for many vehicles, as long as they're running they don't get the attention they need to ensure longevity without major repairs.
If it's a vehicle you plan to keep for a long time, it might make sense to try and find one around that 80,000km mark and get the maintenance done asap - at least then you can be mostly confident about the maintenance history. It's a lot of money to spend, so that's basically the angle I took when shopping around for mine to help limit the risks of buying used. I bought my H2 at about 90,000km and it was evident that the previous owner did not get the recommended maintenance done - this is the unfortunately reality of most used vehicles!!
My 2 cents!

Re: Used H2
The truck looks to be in good shape; however, KMs are relatively high. Price seems about right for condition and number of KMs.
There are a LOT of aftermarket things on the truck - I see tail lights, head unit, gauge cluster, air intake - might want to give those close attention.
These trucks are very stout and the drivetrain should last forever - take a look at the frame for signs of it being offroaded (doubtful given the "bling" accessories on it) and check for rust - mine was loaded with surface rust which I have since mitigated, but something to consider.
Does it have airbags or coil springs in the back? The air bags are known to go bad - you are better off with the coils IMO.

The other thing you will want to look at is the front differential (both sides) where the axles go into the differential. Look for oil leaking out. The seals in these trucks (any 2500HD GM) are known to go bad, they are cheap and fairly easy to replace, but I would be concerned if oil was coming out of them at 140k kms; likely were not repaired when they first started leaking around 50k.

Re: Used H2
A tade pricey. If you want an H2 with low kms,
I have a 05 H2 , black on black,( no chrome) tan interior 82000kms $26500. OBO
Extra light bar up top, Never off roaded, needs one tire replaced due to cracks. can email picks if needed.
It would be a nice drive home.
