Leather seat covers

Post by JamesAmazing »

Can you buy GM OEM leather seat covers or do you have to buy the whole seat?

I have a rip on the driver seat that i want to repair.

Apparently you can (4 in the picture).

Anyone bought and installed them?

I can share that in my truck the heated seat warmers quit working, when I checked it out at the dealer I was told that the heat elements are sewn right in to the seat skins and that new skins are $600 each. So they should be available, but pricey...in my books anyway.

Thanks for the info! I guess they will need to be custom installed because of the heat coils?

I think installation should be pretty straight forward. Probably an afternoon DIY project. Maybe a 2 beer job. Because the element is sewn in, the wiring should consist of just a plug under the seat. But then again, I'm no expert.

I found a source for my replacement elements but haven't actually ordered them yet. I've read some how to web sites and installation looks to be straight forward for most vehicles.
