End of April sounds good. Should have a few new things fabricated by then to try out. Plasma cutter should be up and running early April. Just picked up an air dryer today for it and have my new ait compressor linked to my old air compressor so I have enough CFM for it.

I've been doing a fair bit of practice welding. The nice weather is here, go hook up your 220V power line to the garage and get going already! HA

How are you planning to cut all your steel? I was going to get it all CNC cut based on CAD drawings I had made but couldn't find a place that was willing to do it for less than a sultans dowry.

Still here, just getting depressed trying to sell my house... stupid sink hole from last year has ruined my front yard and I am losing potential buyers because of it <img src='http://www.canadianhummerclub.com/forum ... #>/sad.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':(' />

Get me a job in Calgary and I'll buy it off you. Is there room to expand the garage or a big two car at least?

haha, sure. There is no expansion room for the garage, it is a standard 21'x21' box... house is a beauty otherwise with some real stand out features, actually if I could expand the garage I wouldn't move.

I sent your resume and a good reference to a few people I know, did you get any calls at all?

SNC Lavalin is hiring again right now, so is a company called Projex. Fluor may possibly be hiring depending on this CNRL project coming through. It might be worth it to try cold calling these places. One kind of odd ball shot might be Spec Engineering, now called "HQC Spec"... they need talented local people to work with their overseas guys who are coming here, it might be a good opportunity for people looking to break in. IMV, Worely, Jacobs, Amec, Bantrel are all letting lots of guys go last I heard. Suncor is also scrapping Voyager which is a massive blow to the industry, not sure if they are just going to reinvest somewhere else though.

Thanks for passing my resume around. Ya I haven't had any call backs for oil and gas work. Not too surprising as I don't have any experience in that area but just need to get my foot in the door somewhere. All the offers I have got or jobs I've been interviewed for have been in the wind industry or plant maintenance, but unfortunately none of them have been in Alberta. All in Ontario, or Southern US.

I would much prefer to say in good old Alberta. There are still a lot more trails that my truck has not yet seen.
