Re: ABS and TC light on
Okay thanks, the reason i was thinking it wasn't engaging was it was snowing here and icy the other day and while these lights were on i could spin around and do doughnuts like crazy, I just assumed it wasn't kicking in or giving any front wheel assist. Again thanks for the info and will get the proper parts replaced.

Re: ABS and TC light on
It seems that the rear wheel sensors have gone again. The shop is quoting $600 parts and $400 labour to replace them and the connectors. Seems to be a lot of money, should I be getting a second opinion?

Talked to the service guy and he quoted the ABS sensors at $278 each, RockAuto $180 with shipping.

Re: ABS and TC light on
Well went ahead and had the shop replace the sensors, I just want it fixed. Took them a week to get the parts in, they installed them last night and surprise... still not fixed. The computer was throwing more codes indicating a problem with a front sensor. They think that it is a problem with the EDCM ($1000) or the valve ($1500) that connects to the brake lines, which are 9 years old, so they likely won't come off nice. This is ridiculous!

Re: ABS and TC light on
So this morning my H2 went crazy on me. The brake light was out, but my seat belt light was on, the fuel gauge was out, the radio was out and the windows didn't work. Back to the garage. They unplugged the EBCM and everything came back on. Talking to the shop supervisor, he says the Brake Control Module communicates on the same line as many of the other features and because it is shorting out it is throw the computer for a loop. Right now it is disconnected, so the Brake, ABS and T/C lights are on. My question (Kev hopefully you can help me here), do I spend the money to replace the ECM, or could I just get MGS Custom Tune to program the computer to ignore it, so that I can use 4 lock, and 4 low again? ABS is great for winter driving, but other than that, I really don't/shouldn't need it.

same problem as mine, got it diagnosed from GM dealership found the problem front passenger abs, sensor,my temporary fix pulled fuse for ABS under the hood, my 4X4 still works AWD,4HI and 4LO, downside i have some lights @ the dash ( stability trak, parking brake light,) i just keep pushing the mileage needle to rid of the nagging flashing @ DIC,every start. im going to get fix as soon it needs new brake pads.

Re: ABS and TC light on
Norm, before going too far, I would thoroughly check your wiring harness. To me it sounds more like a cross wire short than an EBCM. As well, I would take it for a drive with the scan tool installed to double check all your speed sensors, they should all read the same. If one is slow to react then change it out. This test cannot be done properly on a lift the truck must roll on all four wheels. IF it is the EBCM I would be surprised!
