So I went and had a look at a 1996 at a used car dealer... Not very impressed! Took awhile to get going, I know the Detroit engines are loud but this was even worse. They claimed the engine was completly rebuilt.... Yet, look under the hook and the valve covers are all rusted and leaking on the drivers side... So if it was rebuilt.... Half-@ssed!!!
He liked the deuce but I said no way! Hub seal was gone too, inside was rough..... I hate it when people don't take care of their vehicles....
Still torn, depressed as the girl who wanted mine dissappeared.... Then driving to that dealer today I got 2 stares, 1 smile and a thumbs up....
I may just hang tight...

I will have mine for a while yet, I am under strict orders from the boss not to buy another project until I finish the green machine!

My hopes were high for the H4.......... I spoke to a few of the AMG guys - they were well under way.
Too bad.

I was surprised they never went through with it, would have been a great competitor for the Wranglers

Honestly, the Wrangler sets a pretty high standard! It's well equipped and performs exceptionally well. It's the real deal.
I was in Moab (at the club event) when they were testing the H2 and later - the H3. The development team for all models of Hummer did much of their testing at Moab - that's the place that determined much of the capabilities of the trucks. I have stories to tell about it - too long to write.
Of course I had high hopes for the H4, and the C Series. AM General gave a presentation about the C Series to us at last years Moab event. The big complaint was that they still had fabric doors. Awesome truck though!

Sure did found a shop in Ottawa going out of business and bought a plasma cutter while I was there.
The thing cut's steel like butter. Can't wait for spring to start fabricating in the garage.
