Well the Hummer finally has a new cylinder head after much wrangling and battling with the dealership.
I had to go as far as calling OMVIC to file a complaint against them. After all was said and done I came out of it with a new cylinder head which covered under an extended warranty that the dealership paid for on my behalf.
So I'm happy to say the H3 is running great and I love driving it!

Glad to hear they took care of it for you; even after some fighting on your part.
The cylinder head is a known issue on the 3.5L motor - not sure what year your truck is, but it happened to a large portion of the 3.5L (2006) and a few of the 3.7L in the 2007 model year.

Thank you...I'm happy it all worked out ok as well. My wife was giving me the "I told you so" speech but she is now a closet Hummer lover. Mine is a 2007 3.7L however I thought it fell out of the VIN numbers affected...apparently not. lol

Rhino is an 08 H3 alpha and with snorkle installed did 13L/100KM combined city /hwy driving beating even jeeps .
Our main problem is with vandalism our rad failed ( when removed it was determined to be a sharp pointed object struck the rad ( long nail or ice pick) also the original tires were slashed on the road side add spiting and eggs as well.

Wow sorry to hear that you had so many issues, glad it all worked out, and now with the weather getting a bit white, I am sure you will enjoy that truck even more....

Thanks... Definitely enjoying the H3 now most issues have been addressed. Seems mine is plagued with every typical Hummer defect know to man! lol

I'd love to sit down with the original owner it may be why he dumped it. Rhino showed at his dealer as the Christmas Hummer and people wanted to buy him. They believed that dealer had decorated a used H3.

Lol actually I have the original owners name. It was with the owners manual along with the day it was purchased etc. I can say it was a female who owned it and it appears to have been a lease. She did have some work performed under the original warranty but mostly routine stuff.
Engine is running well now...just that TPM system is a real pain in the a$&. Also the occasional anti theft "no start" issue shutting off fuel to the engine after parked, which I seem to have worked around by locking the vehicle with the door lock rather than the fob. If it does happen, I wait 10 mins and it starts up again (annoying but not worth putting a for sale sign on it).
I love driving it...maybe a tire upgrade in the spring and level out the front end... ;-)

A woman owned it? Huh, I thought this was an ex-members truck. Definitely not who I was thinking of!

Chip,
Glad to hear most of the issues have been resolved, my wife has a 2006 H3 fully loaded with 197,000 kms, it is supposed to be the most problematic model but we have never had anything major go wrong other then a thermostat replaced and the passenger side seat heater. It was purchased used with 175,000 kms from a dealer and they paid 50/50 for the seat heater! I have a 2005 H2 that is the all black model, I still like driving my wife's H3 from time to time just wish it had more power.
