Hey guys , I am waiting for shipping quote for header. But I am wondering if you guys have any info I haven't gotten yet, especially from other people with either of these.
I am verry curious about the sound of both. I only have stock exhaust as well. Also any issues with either I may expect like engine codes, problems without sensor depth, or fitment? I heard the longtube headers didn't just drop in and cutting something was necessary? So It is the stock replacement header I am inquiring about.
Thanks guys in advance

I run a set of Stainless Gibson shorty headers and they were a perfect direct fit!
If I ever had to do it again...I would install a set of Dynatech Long Tube Headers along with their high flow cats!
Both a fully bolt on and come with everything!

I am going for a certain price point. I dont know about those I havent checked them out. I heard longtube needed mods to insrall as well. I have had a hard time finding all my parts from canadian suppliers for decent prices. Got a couple but not all. Bilsteins arent bad price, and seems the popular shock sets as well.

Which engine do you have the i5 or the 5.3 V8? I've been looking for a a set of long tubes for mine as well and can't find anything that will fit properly without either cutting up the header or the floor: pacesetter, doug thorley, gibson none fit proper without major mods. Nothing is a direct bolt on yet that I've seen.
Polar bear are you talking about long tubes for the H2 or or H3/H3T?

I was talking about headers for the H2! Everything fits for us!!! You guys just need to step up to the big brother!!!
I would definitely suggest you give dynatech a call, they can probably make exactly what you need!

Re: magnaflow exhaust manifold vs Ott header?
<a href="http://www.ottperformance.com/store/pc/ ... ory=298</a> I ordered my header. It is just a stock replacement header not longtube, but I assume it has to be better than the cat on there. They are from ott performance in the US, pretty good price as they matched the price shipped For what I was gonna get. Seems like a decent piece especially for the price. The longtube were only like 100 bucks more but couldnt go that way cuz you need a new midpipe. I can bolt the little one on to my stock exhaust.
I was talking about this topic on another forum and someone mentioned this as a replacement. They said it is good quality and has pretty heavy flanges as well. When I ordered Josh told me they had to make it and it would be 10-14 days and I should have it. Seems pretty good to me for it to be built and get to me that quick.
Oh sorry, I have the I5 , kinda wish it was an alpha. I have the lux 06, not much done yet, just tires and brakes. Besides maintenance stuff, drilled rotors and duratrac tires. I put a hub bearing in and some universals, ball joints, and did the sunroof drain fix, plugs(pita), and cleaned the throttle body and maf.
But......... In shipping and some gets here tomorrow(woohoo), some in three weeks.... New radiator, belt tensioner and belt, and a k&n 77 series, and 4 New bilstein 5100 (couldnt pass up for $310), as well as the new gasket and studs for installing the header. Gonna be busy.

Re: magnaflow exhaust manifold vs Ott header?
Well my header is here. Looks awesome. Looked over all welds. Perfect ID say. Now just to install it and see what we have here.
Is there anyone else who has one of these installed?? I am hoping it isn't more tinny sounding,if so I will probably wrap it up.
I have a question though. This is a stock replacement not a longtube header so would it be a short? Or just stock? I am hoping better low to mid power and not mid to high. I believe that is what I read is longtube is mid thigh rpm power boost and short is low to mid rpm. I do a fair bit of highway driving and looking for possibly better cruising up those long hills. This and k&n I hope helps.

Re: magnaflow exhaust manifold vs Ott header?
Hey again. Put in my header...1 day and half later. And a lot of cursing. Fear the exhaust flange bolts!!!!! The oxygen sensor lasso stuck I had to cut the exhaust manifold apart and use a pipe wrench and a mail to get it out. Damaged the nut badly but no codes yet. A bit better throttle response though. Still shocks and k&n left to go. All in at the shop just gotta pick them up.
