Moab 2014!

Post by humybby »

At last year’s Expedition Moab event, we received some reports that zombies, yes zombies, were tampering with our trucks. While we slept in our comfortable hotel rooms, zombies, under the cover of darkness, were at work causing harm and mayhem. This is not acceptable.

It’s alleged that they fiddled with transfer cases, differentials, idler arms, ball joints and even transmissions. Some of their tampering caused serious issues – and this must be stopped. Hummers, once again, will save the world - this time from zombie atrocities. We owe it to the Hummer community and off roaders everywhere. In 2014 The Hummer Club and its members will deliver!

The 2014 Hummer Club event in Moab will be a ZOMBIE HUNT!

No zombie is safe and no evil zombie deed will go unpunished. Zombies will be hunted down and will face Hummer justice. We will search and we will succeed. We’ll hunt zombies in 3 states! Colorado, New Mexico and Utah. We’ll hunt Zombies during the day and during the night. Run scared zombie, run scared. We’re coming for you!

Your help is needed and your assistance required – these zombies must be stopped!

The latest reports are that Zombies have been attacking transfer cases and differentials in Durango, Colorado and Aztec, New Mexico – so we’ll start our hunt there on September 18th. We’ll hunt high and low for 3 days, the 18th, 19th and the 20th. Hey, when we say high – we mean high. Up to elevations of 13,000 ft!

Then we’ll transfer to Moab on the 21st. I suggest that you visit Mesa Verde on the way. It’s alleged that zombies have been hiding in ancient Pueblo cliff houses. If you’ve never been - the cliff houses are incredible and must be seen, but please take care, the zombies could be anywhere. You’ll only get a short visit but it’s certainly worth seeing. It’s incredible.

On the 21st we’ll have our welcome dinner, right now we’re planning to have it at Rotary Park, right in Moab.

We’ll start hunting zombies in earnest on the 22nd and we’ll also hunt on the 23rd, 24th and 25th. We’ll finish off our hunt with a roasted zombie dinner in the hotel breakfast room.

It’s important that you help us at the 2014, Moab Zombie Hunt!

BE THERE!

Here’s the 411.

Pre-event Description:

Aztec and Durango: We’ll run the incredible Grim Reaper and Secret. Secret is a Hummer only ‘top secret trail’ – hence the name, Secret. We’ll also run trails near Ouray, Colorado. Bring a camera, and clean underwear! It’s not only wicked scary, it’s wonderfully scenic.

Transfer Day:

I strongly suggest that anyone that hasn’t visited Mesa Verde do so. It’s not a wheeling place but it really is incredible. Certainly worth a visit.

Main Event Description: In Moab we’ll run the trails that made Moab famous. Golden Spike, Moab Rim, Cliffhanger, Hells Revenge, Flat Iron Mesa (my favorite) and Metal Masher - some of the most iconic trails in the Moab area.

Wednesday, Sept. 17: Participants arrive in Durango and check into their hotels for the pre-event.

Thursday, Sept. 18: Pre-event trails in the Aztec area begin at 8:00 a.m.

Welcome dinner in Moab. Congregate at 7:00 pm at Rotary Park for a tailgate style buffet dinner and vendor displays. Bring an appetite!

Monday, Sept. 22: Moab trail day – Zombie hunt.

Tuesday, Sept. 23: Moab trail day – Zombie hunt. Annual General Meeting 7:00pm in the hotel conference room. Board of directors meeting follows.

Register Online @ www. ... NC.com. Event fees must be paid online.

Click Here to Register Online: <a href="https://www.thehummerclubinc.com/Events ... x?I=146

Some notable Information:

• Driver’s meeting each morning at the departure point. Be fueled up and have a lunch packed each trail day. Also bring extra water and some extra snacks.

• A CB for communication is required.

• Be certain that your truck is well maintained and that it is in good operational condition.

• Be prepared for long trail days, you never know what might happen ‘out there’ with the Zombies!

• Unfortunately there’s an obstacle (Mirror Gulch) that just hates H2 tie-rods. You’ll only be allowed on this trail in an H2 if you carry at least one spare tie-rod. It’s not particularly difficult but there’s no bypass. It’s just the configuration of the rocks and the particular dimensions of an H2’s front end that make it difficult on tie-rods.

Mechanical Support:

As with all Hummer Club events, we will be self-supporting. Of course you will have the assistance of other members should anyone have any issues but plan on being as prepared as possible with a few common spare parts and tools.

Yep. Any Hummer owner is welcome in The Hummer Club Inc. The HCI put's on events all over the place. The Moab event is the clubs keystone event. It's usually the biggest event of the year - usually the longest event of the year and, in my opinion, the best event of the year. All models of Hummers are welcome and all models and styles attend. From pimped out H1's to stone stock H3's. H2's and Humvee's - all are welcome. Every truck ROCKS the rocks!

But it's not for everyone. if you don't want to off road responsibly, or are into drugs and alchol on the trail - you might not enjoy the happy, friendly, family friendly event. The HCI is an excellent way to visit Moab period, but especially for the first time. We have Hummer knowlegable trail leaders, we're familiar with all the trails and we have decades of experience there. We go places that are incredible.

Anyway, I hope you're able to join us! If you've never wheeled Moab you're in for a real treat. It's a place that changes your life. It's simply incredible I went once and got hooked - now I've been there about 20 times.

This years theme should be a blast! ZOMBIE HUNT!

Oh ya.

Greg, or as I'm know in Moab, Hollywood.

OK, there have been some zombie attacks against Hummers in the past few days. WE NEED TO HUNT THESE LITTLE BUGGERS DOWN!
These photos were taken by government spy satellite and as you can see by the red rocks, these atrocities are clearly taking place in the Moab area. They've been attacking all aff road vehicles and as you can see here, they've just attacked an H1. Make no mistake, they're after all Hummer vehicles! The buggers!
Be sure to register and book your hotels as soon as possible.
We need to get them!
All three models of Hummer were developed in Moab and we'll be driving the same trails the H1, H2 and H3 development team used..
If you have any questions about the event, or your truck, please PM me.

You can see these buggers laying in wait then they AMBUSH! You can see them destroying steering and brake parts then a big celebration at the end. These atrocities are hard to watch.

Help stop this needless nonsense.

Greg
