Re: The ALBERTA chat thread!
Sugarphreak, the Rancho lift is on my "to do" list, I'm just need to get back to working 10hr days 18 days straight to save up for both the lift and wheels for it. However the truck has a handfull of "little issues" that need resolved before I can justify $3,000-$4,000 for a lift/wheels/tires.

Re: The ALBERTA chat thread!
A 'change' isn't always an 'upgrade'.
Choose parts carefully and think of the entire system, not just the single part. For example, you could put in a huge, super strong half shaft - super cool, it'll never break. But then if there's an issue you end replacing the t-case instead of an easy to replace half shaft.
Sometimes a weaker part is a good thing.
I have no comment on what you have planned, nor do I know anything about the parts you're talking about but I do know that care must be taken and that stronger isn't always better.

If you can install it yourself, I got 9000XL shocks plus the kit shipped for 2600$... (or was it 3100$... hmmm) you can just get some spacers for your current wheels instead of getting all new tires and wheels right now, I had detailed the information in a post somewhere for some really nice spacers for a good price.
The Rancho Kit replaces a ton of stuff (cross members, knuckles, additional bracing, etc), and so far for me it has been awesome.
EDIT: Here is the post

I intend to install it myself it's just the cheapest I've been able to find it is $2500 U.S. I don't quite have your luck unfortunately lol. I never even thought of spacers. Might have to track some down to prevent the rubbing my truck currently suffers from.

Re: The ALBERTA chat thread!
There is a site that is selling the kit for about $2500 right now with a $400 mail in rebate... that makes it a little more affordable... I can find the site if anyone wants the link
A guy on another forum I am on just bought a used Rancho lift kit that came with everthing including rims and tires for $700.... the only issue was a blown front shock!
Personally I would stay away from the Rancho's front shocks as they only have 2.3" of travel, I am using Bilstein 5160's up front and the Rancho RSL9000's that came with the lift in the rear and it is wayyyy better!!

Re: The ALBERTA chat thread!
The 5160s are great for travel but I guarantee by January they'll be leaking, the first set I had started to leak in the first 2 months, Essex Distributing warrantied it, sent me a new pair, those were good for just over a year and now they're leaking, pretty heavy too.
I think T-Dot performance out of Toronto had the Rancho on with the $400 rebate on not long ago.

I got the 5100's and have had them on a bout a month or so. Like them a lot, I dont know about any others. Also my old ones were wornout so Not even any dedecent stock ones to compare to. I have the lux model and am unaware if the stock ones are just base shocks or not. I got them for 310 bucks all 4.
