It is easy to blame others for the lack of events , but in truth its every member that shares the blame.
If the same people organize events they soon get worn down especially when people just stop coming so events die. ( Ontario Xmas Gathering /Dinner)
Other times life makes running an event a secondary issue so an event dies .(The Airport gathering)
We all need to see if we can set up an event and post it.
Some just need a place and time (Timmies meets)
Others need alittle more we have an opportunity with the off road show July 12th for a Convoy into show .
IT's time someone other than Beet's, Markus,Roy and myself ran some events
Also check site occasionally and support events

If there is a coffee meet and I am not out of town or there are no family duties on that day...then I'll be there.

Re: EVENTS or the Lack of events
I've been busting my butt putting together the Hummer Club, Moab Event. Better called the 2014 Moab Zombie Hunt!
At last years Expedition Moab event we had more than 10 trucks from Canada - and you have no idea how proud I am that Canadians rocked the event.
Anyway, if you want to go to an event that'll likly change your life - sign up for Moab in September. We (I) extrend the event with a pre-event in Colorado and new Mexico to make the event even more epic and of higher value to those that came long distances.
Please join us at the Moab Zombie Hunt - it'll be the best Hummer event in many, many years. It looks like this years event will be notably better than last years event - and last year was fantastic. 2 themed meals, dozens of epic trails, expereienced guides, Hummer specific trails, event swag and memories that'll never, ever be forgotten.
I'd appreciate it if someone that's been to the clubs Moab event chimed in here. We had folks from Ontario, Quebec, Manitoba, Saskatchewan, Alberta and BC all attend. It's a long drive - and worth every single minute.
Anyway, I'd love if you could join us.

Re: EVENTS or the Lack of events
It was and is a very good trip to take. Some spots are a bit tricky but trailable.
Trip to and from is stupid long and mentally tiring.
I'd advise to go a day early and not to plan any exhausting plans for a week after.
From Ontario it was a 32 hour drive there,3, 10-12 hours days of driving.
Then 7 days of off roading experiences, socializing and site seeing.
Then the dreaded 32 hour drive home.I myself had no energy for a week after.
Trip is a bit costly, approx $7g for a family of 4 towing the truck. To drive a hummer that far may be to crazy.
Once home,a complete checkover of worn out parts that you just replaced prior to the trip!
I would love to do this trip every year, but the pocket book is a bit too light to multiple 1-2 week off roading trips per year.

Thanks Roy! Yes, it is exhausting.
We'll have an additional night trail run this year too!

Re: EVENTS or the Lack of events
This is something I would love to do after having seen the videos (and the movie), heard the stories etc. but at this point it is just something I can not afford to do. Maybe someday. I do however respect the time and effort you personally are putting forth to get this trip organized, good luck and have fun!

Re: EVENTS or the Lack of events
Thanks Brian, it's a big effort but I think the event is way cool. 1 trip there completely changed my life and I think it's like that for most folks that go.
I hope to see you there one day!
The good news is that we should have the area zombie free by the end of this Septembers event. LOL!

Re: EVENTS or the Lack of events
Am in the initial stages of planning a trip back up to Ardbeg, On for some time in late September/early October time frame. Would be a weekend long trip for those who were interested. Will post up something in the next week or so.

Re: EVENTS or the Lack of events
I'll have a bunch of Hummer Zombie Hunt themed swag for the Moab event - here's just a small, small sample.
This years Moab event will be wicked cool.
