So recently one of the guys here in Montréal had an issue with No Heat but only on the driver's side. After a quick scan of the body control module I confirmed that the HVAC controls were indeed sending the signal but alas not heat to the driver's side.
After some quick research I found that there is a mode door that went defective.
The drivers side actuator is on the bottom towards the transmission tunnel. It controls airflow to the driver's side only.
To access the blend door actuator, note that it is in the HVAC system under the passenger side dash, to access it remove the cover below the glove compartment, 2 screws. The drivers blower door actuator motor is closest to the transmission tunnel and is held in place with 2 screws. I did a quick test when replacing the actuator, I manually rotated the mode door to ensure that there was no restrictions to thye door movement and to ensure that it would indeed fix the problem. Once I confirmed that the blend door moved freely and that we now had heat on the driver's side, I installed the new actuator. I tested it again with everything in place and the HVAC controlling it and Voila! Heat is Fixed!
The part number for the actuator is ACDelco 15-73620.
Hope this helps,
Kev
