Re: A true nooby question
Hey welcome to the forum. I too just joined today. I too had the same problem; however, I had to try to convince the mechanic that he did not have to install daytime running lights on my Hummer that I imported from the US. The head mechanic at the Hummer dealership had me tell the mechanic at Canadian Tire (they do ALL federal inspections on imported vehicles across Canada!!!) that I would pay him $2,000 if he could find the switch to turn on the "fog lights". The mechanic told me he would pay me a $3,000 if there actually was one!!! Needless to say, I didn't have to pay for having DRL installed.

Re: A true nooby question
It wasn't a dealership, it was Canadian Tire where I HAD to have the Federal Inspection done for importing the vehicle from the US.

you said "The head mechanic at the Hummer dealership" so that is why I was wondering...my rig too was a US truck so I know what you had to go through.. I found it not a bad experience.

Re: A true nooby question
Sorry, Roy Foss in TO. The head mechanic there is awesome guy to deal with. Can't remember his name, but it was some Italian name like Lorenzo or something like that.... Dealing with the Can. Tire mechanic was the problem during the Federal Inspection as he wanted to install daytime running lights...Had to tell him to try and turn on the "fog lights"....he couldn't find the switch!!!!
