Hello, everybody!
I need to replace my all four door OEM speakers, because they are not working any more. Just one of them is working every second day and rest of them - not! I never try to change speakers by myself before so for me it's a little bit challenging! I found one video on Youtube how to do it, but, unfortunately, it's very hard to see anything because everything guy is doing over there is in the darkness. And I don't want to damage or brake some of those door plastics parts without special tools ( special fork to remove door plastic panel).
So my question is: Is it really hard to do it by myself?
Thank you very much!

Collega Ok are you sure its bad speakers or bad connections. Connectors get dirty hint is the loss of all 4 if all at once suppect is Radio end Ground wire. If so clean with contact cleaner also called colour tuner cleaner one can will last forever ( mine dates back to the 70's) spray contacts then connect and disconnect several times and test. If speakers are truely dead split cones ( rattlely sound or just off sounding ) I suggest trying wreckers for parts some like Standard have all you can carry sales. ok this means you pull them but doing this provides practice ( and maybe a few spare parts like door panels and other things you need.) take several industrial garbage bags and a small tool kit ( allen keys screw drivers wrenches and a small pry bar) I hope this helps I rebuilt a 56 nash metropolitan from wrecking yards.

I am not sure 100% about bad speakers. And one of them is still working, but not every time: one day is working, another day- is not! About other three ones I don't know when they stop working. May be they didn't work for a long period of time because I didn't pay too much attention to that how many of them were working as soon one of the speakers was creating illusion that they are okay! And You said it could be radio connectors, so how can I clean those connectors? Are those connectors attached to the radio?

Collega to check speakers check for rips tears, or cracks then *use a flash light battery and connect to speaker you should get a pop sound as speaker deflects.
Why I think you have connector issues at the radio is usually speakers fail on one side or the other not as sets. The last one being intermittant also points to wiring ie a bad connection. The connector is usually on the back of the radio. To clean get a spray can of contact cleaner (NOT WD 40 )Disconnect connector from radio and spray both parts and reconnect and disconnect radio a few times ( this allows cleaner to clean surfaces). Reconnect and check ( try this twice atleast ). If this fails then with power off try battery trick at plug if you get pop then radio could be bad or if you get speakers to pop* at speaker and not at radio plug then its in the wiring harness.
Contact cleaner can be found in electroic component shops It was also called colour tuner cleaner in the pre solid state days. This stuff is great for dirty plugs and volume controls like on old transistor radios.

Was it a semi easy job? Or a pain?

As for me, it was pain in .... He must remove all speakers and adjust new ones with old plastic inserts from OEM speakers.
