Thinking of removing my running boards. Do I need to add rock sliders? I don't do any off-roading, so do I need to worry about body damage?
Has anyone taken off their running boards and not added sliders?
Any help is appreciated!

Hi erynkaye
if you don't have rocker panel protector and are not doing ANY or wont do any off road at all you don't need to add anything.
Your running board if only for helping passenger or drivers to get in the vehicle. ok it offer a basic protection of your rocker panel if you happen to pass over a bump of some sort high enough to hit but the chances of hitting something like that on the street is limited.
i take my running board off for offroad, and put them back for street use. But i have the OEM rocker panel protector to protect the rockers.
Running board, are easy to take off, only 8 bolts each side, i suggest to put the bolt back in their holes so that if you want to install something else after they ( bolts and holes ) are not all rusted and at the same time you wont misplace them.

Re: Removing H3 Running Boards
Only problem is Side impacts Rhino had his step bars brackets bent several times off roading or snow banks. easily straightened by looping a strap around bracket and placing strap under tire and driving slowly til bar is back in position.
However Rhino was struck in right side by a Sunfire the Bar defended the body and itself bent and dislocated into the rear tire with a scuff on the rear fender. The Sunfire was wreitten off with a totally destroied front quarter panel ,jammed drivers door and front end . After re positioning the bar using a tow strap we drove home and actually went off roading next day. With out the side bars Rhino would have required extensive body work and doors.
