Quebec Fall Offroad and Christmas Party November 21st

Post by whitehumh2 »

Ok so on November 21st we will run the new trails in our famous Weir Sector..

We can run mostly mud with some really steep climbs with some rock ledges.

We can run a tight and twisty muddy offcamber trail with some tight squeezes between some big rocks but no real rock crawling.

We can run some tight forest trails with some very technical climbs to the top.

We can run one of 3 completely new trails that even I have not run yet...only traced out on GPS...but from what I hear from some of my Jeep Buddies are absolutely awesome!

Or we can run a full out Rock Trail that most H3s could dance thru with 35s but will need the occasional winch for the odd ledge. For us H2s, it is one of my favorite new trails. The upper boulder section will require a strong winch and good line choices since there are large trees dotted in the boulders BUT multiple lines depending on the challenge one wishes to take!

Most of these trails are about 1-1.5kms long with the longest at about 4km. The 1-1.5km trails are more technical from start to finish...with a solid crew where every truck has a winch and some good tires we should be able to run 1 in the morning and 1 in the afternoon.

The new trails are in no way a leisure cruise and will challenge both Hummer and Driver throughout. All of the above trails can be run without rock armor but requires aggressive tires and patience. A winch would be a major benefit!

If we choose to run one of the 3 new trails...we will walk it out FIRST to make sure we can actually fit!

Looking forward to a Stellar Last Run before the end of the season!!!

Meeting Place will be the Tim Horton's in Saint Sauveur!

We will meet there for 8am and head to the trail from there!

Since we will have a smaller group, I think we can run two trails and keep a great pace and have tons of fun!

I have a the GPS tracks if anyone wants me to email them.

We will also go for a Christmas Supper afterward IF there is enough time! I found this awesome Restaurant called Robbie's Smokehouse and the Food is amazing and the gourmet burgers can be up to 12inches thick!!! Sounds like MAN Food!!!

So let me know what you think and sign up hear!!

November 21st!

I already have Roy and Marc...Jimmy can you try for the 21st instead of the 28th???

Roy can you bring the Silver H1??? I will take care of any wrenching for you!

My H2 is already Full, got three friends ready to roll!

H3 guys? ??? C'mon you will love it!! Even if you have no rock bars and no winch I will guide you through! You just have to really pay attention to how I guide you!!!

Woohoo, Offroad! I am excited already!!!

So for the 21st,

Here are some potential trails we could choose from;
Weir Trails 2015.PNG

01K is a very tight forest trail that is like an uphill mudbog and then transfers to angled slabs of rock that put you in some uncomfortable positions!!! Then you need to turn around and come back down!!! You need at least a rear locker and mud tires for this one!

01P is a fun trail but several bottomless mud sections and the odd tight squeeze between some trees and rocks...the exit is a 400ft long mud hole! You need at least a rear locker and mud tires for this one, as well as a functional winch! This trail makes a loop but can only really be run one way...top to bottom, you need gravity to help!

Here is a pic of a tight spot on the trail!

02H is probably one of my new favorite trails! It is intense! it has some muddy sections that are dotted with trees and rocks and then has three key boulder fields...with the right line you can drive thru two of them...the third will require the help of a winch! This trail makes a loop but can be run in either direction. Bottom to top is more challenging top to bottom allows gravity to help thru the most difficult section! We normally run the trail bottom to top as it is way more fun!!

Here is a pic of the boulder field at the top! And yes an H3 can make it thru without rock bars! I managed to guide a bone stock TJ with no lockers and no winch thru this trail simply because the driver was great at listening to instructions!

The one that I really want to run on the 21st is a Combo Trail..

03C to 03M to 03G, this trail would give us everything all in one trail! We would run 03G down since gravity would be on our side! I have not yet run this combo BUT we could also simply run the 03C to 03M forward and backwards.

Ideally we will figure out exactly just which trail we run on the morning of the trail based on a group decision!

So please sign up!!

It is going to be AWESOME!!

Btw, here it the legend for the trail ratings color;

Unfortunately I have a few work commitments that weekend. Would love to go as the trails look fantastic. May have to wait till May before coming out your way. Thanks for the invite. If something changes I'd be in and let you know.

Have fun. Stay safe.
