2004 h2 battery keeps dying, I have a remote starter installed I've had it for about 7 years. What has been happening is in the summer of I didn't start the truck it would last about a week before the battery would die. Now that it is cold outside the truck doesn't last the night. Dealership told me it's the car starter but Bestbuy guarantees that it's not the starter but I haven't brought it to them to have it looked at yet. Any thought would be appreciated
Thanks Steve

HI Steve,
First question for you is...how old is your battery?
Once I know that we can go from there!

dealers will ALWAYS blame the stereo/amp (if after market) or an alarm/starter if they don't install
(there assumption is after market things will drain the battery)
I'd follow polar bears advice, check battery first, then to put you at piece of mind find the remote starter main wire, disconnect and see if the battery will last longer,
But anything could be draining if it's (like poles bear said) its not a bad battery

Sorry I should have mentioned the battery is a year old, this has been going on for over a year. I didn't notice it in the summer since it would only happen after a week of me not starting it.

Did you test the battery with a load tester? A battery won't last long being drawn down like that time and time again.
Test battery, if bad replace and unhook starter. see what happens....
Might save you $$$ in the dealership to do the same thing.

Lol I get a chest pain with dealers, like they know there stuff and are good people (I've dealt with) , but I feel dirty after I get my end bill, and need to shower to wash it off, hehhe

Update. I didn't disconnect car starter yet, all of a sudden the battery hold the charge, the dealer told me they were doing tests under the dash, is it possible that maybe wires were touching and pulling constant power? maybe when they were doing a diagnostic the wires were separated?

HI Steve,
If they played with wires under the dash and now it is OK...you really need to inspect those harnesses since if a wire has started to rub thru you need to address it before it could cause a fire!
