Wow eh, alphas have a 3" body lift...., seems like anything that could go wrong will.....
All I was gonna suggest was the oval the pipe method but same area inside (Long as ya don't go to crazy )
Like yourself I prefer the grill as well, just personal thing, I really love your work, just sucks the finishing happy part has to be a pain.

Re: H1 getting closer to complete....
Thanks Monk. I was very very tempted to do the oval shaping as You and Kev said but chickened out. $ for $ the hood grill is much better to replace if I come up with a different solution later. Now Kev has me seriously considering Hood Scoop! Hood Scoop!
lol
Still fighting out the ABS thing and it looks like I will have to buy a new status center to get the ABS lights back (why would I want that??!!) as it seems the bulbs are not available on this planet. So the jury is still out on living without ABS and putting in the lockers or resurrection of the TT4 system. I should know next week as the factory support is offline untill after the holidays.
I'll mark you down as an "Aye" on the hood vent mod.
Cheers and Happy New Year!!

I Say scrap the TT4 and install lockers...if you plan to off road or head to Moab then you will need lockers! Save the money you would spend on the useless TT4 and get the lockers!!!

Re: H1 getting closer to complete....
Well Guys the intercooler and all the rest of the stuff is installed. My front shocks were both trashed and leaking so I am glad I changed all 4 of them plus all new bolts and nuts. The truck rides noticeably better now. The Evans coolant is in and all new synthetic fluids everywhere else. The tranny / TC / rear ends / gear cases were flushed and serviced. All the new fuel lines and switching valve are in along with the gauges and the rest of the stuff under the hood. New rad, AC condenser, fan clutch, shroud, front HVAC blower motor, glow plugs and controller as well. This goes with the new hub seals, ball joints, Steering gear, Power steering pump, fan, and more crap I change out on it 5000 km ago.
Speaking of hood... Have a look at the final result. I like it, but Kev will say "hood scoop hood scoop" I know.
I Had to sort out a couple ground issues yesterday when picking up the truck but that was pretty straight forward. The Tech did a really clean job overall and I'm overall very satisfied with the work. There are no scratches on the truck. It is spotless inside and out; and the wiring/hoses are all really well placed and protected. Definitely looks like a skilled guy did it as there is nothing hanging or rubbing. Worth the $ to have a professional result I think.
But the big question.... POWER?
A huge YES! With the addition of the lift pump, Remote PMD with the #7 chip, Max-E-Torq PCM, Intercooler, manual boost controller the truck has way more pull. It is like night and day. I have the boost controller set for max 13-14 psi. There are many guys in the forums saying it was a waste of $ and nothing would be gained. I can assure you that is complete BS. This tank just came alive with around town power. I am really looking forward to getting my trailer hooked onto it and trying it on the same route to BC pulling my 1500# RZR. We see how the torque is on the long pulls on the hot days with the intercooler.
I haven't seen any EGTs over 800 yet and the tranny temp is at the bottom of the gauge at 140F. Buts thats winter and around town. The new cooling stack, fan shroud and clutch likely will be helping there too.
So that's this project almost done. Overall the truck has been gone through from top to bottom front to back mechanically and body. All that's left is the Auburn lockers and the new leather wrap over the whole interior.... well maybe a new subwoofer configuration too. lol
Talk to you all later.

WOW!! What a nice job! I like the look of the finished intercooler pipes and hood louver mod...very clean!
I think you need to add water methanol injection. More Power, Cleaner exhaust and way lower engine temps!!! And better fuel economy!!! Sounds like a win win to me!
Really nice job!!
