If I remember correctly ddgermann has one upp'd us by duramaxing his??
well from that advance I did last made made a big difference , way more power, it's still not "right" but if you didn't know my truck you'd think is normal.... I'm sure this summer I'll have so much to do, wanna change injectors,ip,timing chain....

Nope Monk...that's the replaced original engine model. It's a 6.5TD Optimizer jammed in there. Casted in 2007 so no # 8 issues. It looks different as I installed the intercooler on it with the new manifolds...etc. Loving the performance increase with the other stuff bolted on and plugged in along with the intercooler. And yes...I did a major clean up/re-paint in the engine bay while it was all tore apart.
Nice that you got a power boost from tightening the chain. I have another full intercooler package if you want it...hehe... new in the box. Goes well with the upgraded ECU and manual wastegate controller.
The lift pump... I attached a page from the 1999-2000 manual explaining how it is supposed to work. It seems it might possibly be your pump relay. There is a diagram as well. If you can't read the diagram let me know and I will try and find you a bigger one.

It has been a labor of love getting this truck restored. I appreciate the positive feedback. The difference in the look of the engine bay is the added intercooler and new cooling stack along with just a good clean-up.
Once you pull off the RH side top dash panel you will see how easy it is to get wires through the firewall on the right side.

The longer the wire runs the bigger gauge wire you need to compensate for voltage drop.
What i did is run extra battery wires with two 100 amp breakers directly into the cab through the engine cover where the hitch pins go through.
I had to make a few mods to the holes and rivet on new mounts to attach the pass through's. I use the back of my inverter as a big power buss and send the extra feed #4 wire back to the amp and #4 wire to my overhead console which then feeds the roof rack.. I also color coded the big wires red and black so there is no mistakes.
I still haven't upgraded my alternator yet to the 250 amp stator which is very necessary in order to run more stuff at the same time... I have designed my own external diode pack. This will be my next project.

And yes, as I said before my motors tired, soooo I turned the injection pump about 1/8 " and my smoke is now none existent ...like puffs at start "very normal" and in 2 seconds clear exhaust ...... My motor is very quiet still, the clatters isn't there any more...I'm ok with it, but that's not what I'm use to...
