I was wondering about that,..., I'm sitting here wondering why no one has made this special wrench..,, and it was a million dollar idea...

Now, since you showed it exists, I'll have to go back to work and make an hourly wage, instead of striking it rich...,

Ps thanks, that's exactly what would help get a good snug on the bolts

Well I advanced timing (again, and a tad more) hehe and smokes gone, so went for E test, that worked!!

So I'm sure timing chain stretched beyond belief ....

Now, for the safety end, I didn't even need one, (go figure)

Service Ontario said that according to them my truck is still in Ontario and not required to be safetied...

I had insurance etc in bc, but hey thought that was cool,... Lol I find out AFTER I had it safetied....

This will give me time now to replace few more expensive items that are due imo....injectors/pump/timing chain, the list goes on, for summer ...

Plus that straight pipe Sunnykeith showed,,,,, that's like dirty talk to me, hehe

Btw what color was the exhaust smoke b4 you adjusted the injector pump. I'm noticing a bit of blue occasionally from the exhaust and when it puffs a bit of blue, I've noticed a bit of loss of power...I'm not sure if it's because of Lucas additive I'm putting in the fuel (oil burning??) Or of its something else starting to creep up.

I'm using lucas in every fill (has made the truck seem quieter though)

My smoke was white/grey and smelled of fuel, super bad,

I turned/rotated my injection pump clock wise, about 1/16 - 1/8 turn and smoke clear up and had more power, started quicker as well....

My motor has high k's on it though......now zero smoke,... I mean nothing, (maybe ice cold start) little but it's super clean...

I remember you did your pump a while back, maybe injectors ?

Or timing chain strtched (like mine is)

I'd look at your air filter first make sure clean and then slow look at the more pricy stuff....

But it can be other issues, valves etc,..,, hard to tell ,but if was fuel related I hope just injectors

Sonny the Lucas is not causing this. I used to have this type of problem when I bought my truck and the Lucas cleared it up. My truck is turboed so I really felt the power drop and there was a cloud of black smoke that came with it. It took a while to clear this up but the difference is night and day. I use it on every fill too and It is running clean now unless I tromp on the fuel pedal. Just bit of smoke on cold start for a couple seconds. Monk has some good experience with this as you read. One of our H1 Gurus will pipe up soon enough here. Kev and Roy are full of information and usually elbows deep in Hummers daily.

You just put in a open exhaust didn't you? Maybe it just breathing better and clearing out the build up in the combustion chambers and manifolds??
It is likely a small issue... thinking positive.

Looking forward to hearing about what you discover.

Now also, that in thinking of it (more of a question to the guros) can a old CD-R valve cause this as well?

Blow by?

But I hope it's something minor, lol I went insane when I had smoke issues, as it's a tuff one to diagnose .....

But ya hopefully someone will mor knowlege can chime in,..,

Also you can skim
