Hello friends...just an issue starting up.
I've noticed that on occasion, the steering wheel seems a bit hard to turn while driving. When that happens, I've noted that when I turn right or left, the steering wheel doesnt automatic return to center (stays turned..so I manually steer it back straight)
Any suggestions on what I should check?

Re: Steering wheel issue starting
Have a look at this. Likely a weak pump or your steering gear is boned. I replaced both on my truck. Made a big difference as I was suffering similar problems. Unless you have seized steering components....but you would likely hear that turning at slow speeds.
Roy likely knows exactly what's wrong and can fix it in no time.
I attached this for you. You might be able to narrow it down.
Good luck
Derek

Maaaan, when they run hey are the best, hehe
I HOPE it's something easy, I've never had that problem BUT remembered years ago a buds one ton Chevy, had a bad
Tierod that was not letting the steering centre , if you can at least jack up the truck and move the tires ,
Or with summer coming rotate them and while there move around all your front end stuff, and those balljoint ,make sure nothing's is tight and ready to snap,.. (for satefy this all)
I'd say (guessing it's the steering box, but can be a pump, any local place can take a quick look, but make sure nothing bad happens front end wise,..

This is what the power steering looks like underneath. Anything out of place? There is a bit of oil but the power sterling fluid level isn't low.

Re: Steering wheel issue starting
The main ps pump could be weak/ dying, the hydro boost could be taking all fluid power--dying, the steering uni's could be seizing, possible ball joints could be seizing. Now saying all that, the wheel return while driving is alignment issues, front or rear. Your best bet is to have it checked out by a mechanic .

Ok. Roy
Let me know whenever ur shop is avail. The steering is a bit harder to turn compared to before while driving. So I'd better get it checked out

Damn Sunny, your truck looks nice for a daily driver, I'm scared to look under mine, I could lose an eye from the grease ,oil, debries that fall from the truck ,hehehe
And ya the week pump isn't as scary as something tie rod wise, take it in some where, just for a piece of mind, I'd had to see a tightened tie rod or balljoint, ready to pop

Re: Steering wheel issue starting
I had this happen several years ago.
Ended up being the intermediate steering shaft needs to have the joints greased from time to time.
The one under the dash is hard to get to so nobody ever greases that one!!
