Why waste the time of going with a swap to an old technology engine?
Stick with the LS block and simply bore and stroke it up to a 408 or 427...then it would look OEM but would destroy vettes!

Agreed and yes it would be fun to drive. Our H3 Alpha feels powered just about right when driving it. They seemed to have got it right calibrating the driveline. Kind of a shame all H3s did not come with the V8.
As far as destroying a vette..... Perhaps some poor vette somewhere.... bet no modded up H3 certainly will be destroying mine.

Seriously though.... This guy in the video looks like he did it right dropping in a new crate 6.2L LS3.

Re: Engine swap H3 with a 383
0-50 on a street with some dust on it would likely be enough....
The Z06 is nuts without AWD and perfect warm dry traction. $3300.00 worth of tires can be gone in literally a few minutes if you're motivated.
But when it hooks up...WOW!
But back to the topic... It seems the modern crate LS3 will drop right in the H3 Alpha including the harness connections. Just need a re-program on the PCM and some tranny / torque convertor upgrades. This seems like a cheap way to really turn the H3 into a reliably powerful monster.
The guy was not keen on upgrading a 5 Cyl H3 as there would be more mods required. $$$
As i said we love the performance of our Alpha just the way it is stock and would not consider more power. If we want to go quick, without 6" of mud, we have the vette. It keeps you on your toes.. haha
