I replaced my. Heater control valve around 4 years ago, as that flap inside broke.
Today, was sunny / warm soooo I fill both tanks
Then touch less car wash, lol then enjoy the nice
Shiney truck...
Part way home I smell antifreeze, so figured
It's just the soap from the wash.
I get home and for some reason, lol, stand there to admire my truck and I saw smoke/steam coming from passenger side under the hood.
Well I see coolant on top of the engine and underneath the truck had lots of coolant.
I looked everywhere and couldn't find the leak or reason. Sooo I figured see if my hose clamps are
Tigh on that side.
While wiggling "lightly" the hoses I get a hot
Coolant bath.
For some weird reason my Lower hose end on the
Water control value broke. Must have been a
Hair Crack, as when I touched it, man she blew antifreeze.
Is it just plain old plastic fatigue?
The nipple broke basicly to the body of the
Valve...
So lol that was my day, quick fix, but day did start good ,hehe

Re: Sheez
I think you need to offroad your H1 more and fix it less!

Re: Sheez
I second that, more repairs means less worring about other stuff that might go wrong!
Buy that part at your local parts store, the seal on the small shaft tends to leak on the new ones . At least that is what I have had issues with.

Re: Sheez
So far she's good, I got an a/c delco (as compared to part source stuff)
And I'm more baffled how long that leak was there? Like I BARELY touched that hose and she broke off,,..but ya so far I'm happy

Re: Sheez
It does not take much to break that valve, even less after a few years of heat...
