Glow plugs and injectors

Post by Monk »

I'm wanting to attemp this , just cause I'm sure my motor is in need, plus lol, I'll feel better come winter starts,.....

But I keep reading about swollen glow plugs, lol THAT stresses me, is swollen plug (I'm sure original ) prone to swole? Or are those more rare? For the n/a, truck

I'm sure if everything was smooth it would go quick, but lol I'm sure my lucks like everyone else, and never works out like it

You never going to know till you try. Roy and I talked about this on Saturday. These should be taken out every year or two just to avoid this issue when it is really needed to be done. I have changed 3 lately on mine But I have a Florida truck and they all came out with a 1/4" drive ratchet!!!  :woot: . If you do try spray them down a couple times with penitrant they day before and day of. You can test them first with a mutli-meter. Did that with mine and found three bad ones. My check engine light also came on when they failed.

Use a  1/4" drive ,so you should not over force, 6 point deep,
Once loose, turn out and back in to slowly remove build up.

Super rusted plugs are attempted but with heat and the possibility of removing the heads to finish the job.

You know Monk I think you should just have Roy hook you up with a Cummins Swap!!!

You know how people play rain fall, or water sounds for sleeping?

I use the Cummins turbo whine to sleep, On repeat, hehe
