Flywheel woes

Post by Monk »

Well I THOUGHT she'd be running mint for the summer, while driving on the Hwy home, my truck is normal sounding , well soon as I come to a stop, sounds like marbles in a can at the stall area,..,

Even after tightening the loose (very loose) tranny bolts,

So this am I crawl under and can see shinny marks on the flywheel where the crank bolt the middle diameter in the middle area of the wheel

Soooooo, I get my screw driver and now see!!! The converter moves 1/8" back n forth and the crank part of the fly wheels not moving....

I guess the thicker donut area, I had this once before and same shit, tranny bolts backed off, and flex sheared a big circle in the middle,,,

I'm guessing that the tranny bolt came loose again and broke the damn flywheel. ...

Yup , Roy I'll need a cot soon, hehe

I'm sorry to hear my bad luck is spreading. How long would you think it takes to fix that torque converter?

Well the torque convert (I hope is fine)

But the fly wheel I can see its barely together,

From what I understand , the loose tranny, moved a lot and made my "not so" flex plate , cracked, I'll have pics when I get her open,..,

Roy's has a flex plate in stock, plus my two lower housing bolt are snapped, so we have to drop the tranny to fix that, then replace flex plate ,,...

Trannys all snugged up but lol was hoping would fix, but nope, need that flex plate, hehe

On a good note, still plugged away, on my "work in progress" truck hehe not sure what I'll do when everything is fresh and up to date,.,

I went to Roy's in he afternoon yesterday, and already tranny/transfer case is sitting out of the truck,

I was surprised how much electronics that plug to them.,

Lol I drive that hour and a half to Roy's, now I'm glad I made it there

Here's a pic of me and Roy doing a scene from the Ghost movie (Well, me with the camera around his head)

But instead of making a clay tray, were drilling 2 broke tranny bolts in the block..

Bottom 2 were broke
