H2 Daytime running lights

Post by dwaxman1 »

How do you get DRL to run on American trucks in Canada, Canadian Tire wants $500 for some module but I think it is just a computer upgrade, anyone know?

Mine came with the DRLs already working even thought it was an American truck.

The dealer asked me because it seems that Canadian Tire is now cranking up the price. I believe it is just a Computer upgrade, but wanted to make sure that is it. There is three trucks that need to be fixed up, Canadian Tire wants $500 each for some kind of "module".

Anyone really know what needs to be done? Mine was resolved prior to me taking delivery...

These trucks that need them, if they are being brought up by a dealer, the dealer needs to get them done.

As for where to go, I would try GM as they can give some good deals. I know the one I have here does. I had them put in my digital brake conroller. They were half price to anyone else around...all parts and labor.

I have an H2 from the U.S. and I noticed that there is a new wire going to them directly from pos side of the battery.I haven't checked into it as to why...but that was done on my Hummer.

It should be controlled by the computer. One would need a tech 2 scanner with the correct software to set the control bit.

Failing that, canada tire had a $25 module that can wired in. The fog lights work as the DRL on the H2 so the modification is pretty easy.

PS the module add on module fails quite regularly. I did not bother to fix it last time.
