At the moment I have 38.5x14.50x16.5 tires on stock alloy rims for my H1. I was told the biggest I can go is 40.0x15.00x16.5 without doing any mods to the truck. Is this true? What are the biggest I can put on the truck without doing any mods?
Thanks

Hey Markus,
For the street, no problem the 40s will fit fine, but off-road can you say RUB-RUB-RUB! <img src='http://www.canadianhummerclub.com/forum ... >/ohmy.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':o' /> <img src='http://www.canadianhummerclub.com/forum ... >/ohmy.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':o' /> <img src='http://www.canadianhummerclub.com/forum ... >/ohmy.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':o' /> The suspension will flex so much that the 40s could possibly damage the air filter housing or even the battery tray. To run 40s safely you need at least new coils and shocks or a body lift. Or you could do both and run 42s! <img src='http://www.canadianhummerclub.com/forum ... >/grin.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=';D' /> <img src='http://www.canadianhummerclub.com/forum ... >/grin.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=';D' /> <img src='http://www.canadianhummerclub.com/forum ... >/grin.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=';D' /> I would go for the 42s <img src='http://www.canadianhummerclub.com/forum ... >/grin.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=';D' /> <img src='http://www.canadianhummerclub.com/forum ... >/grin.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=';D' /> <img src='http://www.canadianhummerclub.com/forum ... >/grin.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=';D' /> Unless you plan to run most of our trails here in Quebec this summer then I would say stick with the 38s!

Re: H1 Tire sizes
HA HA HA If I made my choose I would put a 10" lift then a 2" body lift and then put 52's on the truck. but as it stands now theres a good chance I'll stick with the 38's or max 39.5's. this is what I was thinking.

Re: H1 Tire sizes
Also with 15" wide tire you will get some rubbing as well.. I have 38x15x16.5" tires on my H1 with 2" suspension lift and wheel spacers and still get some rubbing on tight turns. I plan on going upto 42" iroks soon though.

Re: H1 Tire sizes
I really like the look of the wider tire and was wondering if anyone could tell me how to go about this, do you need new wheels to fit the extra width, or will the wider tires fit on the standard original wheels? I have 37 X 12.5 X 16.5 , and at the moment only 3 , so I need at least one matching replacement or two, and have through reading some of these post begun wondering what the actual original, coming off the assembly line tire size was?
