My real reason is actually kind of lame:
My little car kept getting stuck in snow and ruts in the suburbs (which the city of Calgary refuses to clear) so after getting tired of spending 20 minutes to get an extra couple blocks home I was looking for something with AWD and more clearance.
My checklist was simple:
1) 4 door
2) AWD w/ Ground Clearance
3) Extra Cargo Space
4) Bluetooth Handsfree
5) Upscale Interior
I was pretty much down to either the Audi Q5 or the Mercedes GLK... (moreso for the Q5) but then out of nowhere on a site trip the Project Manager was talking about the H3T, I had watched it come out and I thought it was a pretty cool looking truck, so I made a last minute decision to book a test drive.
Test drive went great, it easily met all my criteria. I liked having a truck box in addition to the crew cab and the price they offered was HALF that of the Q5. So I figured I would save myself 35K and get a Hummer <img src='

The side story of course is I have a nasty case of the mod bug... I mod everything. My cars, my SUV's, my trucks, nothing is safe.

Now dont you feel a whole lot better knowing that you have one beast of a truck that neither one of the other two could match up with maybe they look ok in the inside but they cant match the hummer on the outside. So i think that you have the best off-road truck on the market.[quote name='Sugarphreak' date='04 May 2010 - 01:29 PM' timestamp='1272997778' post='16508']

I drive a Hummer because I fell in love with the look of them...and the fact that they draw a lot of attention. No matter where you go, everyone looks!! (Small ego thing...and I love the comments good and bad....from cool truck to Earth Killer!!) Most of all, I use the Hummer as my daily driver and I drive the kids and myself to school every day and I know that I am driving one safe vehicle. The site lines from the high stance of the Hummer are incredible, the ability to drive down the nastiest road, the closed highway (did that once in the US after the state trooper closed the road when he got stuck going up the mountain and had to put chains on his vehicle....drove right by him...knew he couldn't catch me!!) or the meanest off the beatten track trail is unsurpassed and the comfort while driving is like no other vehicle its size. Hummer....like nothing else!! <img src='

We bought the H2 as our second vehicle. I didn't want just another car, something fun and useful. We were looking at trucks a bit, but when the price of gas hit $1.35/L, the used H2 on the dealer lot dropped another $5k ... to a point my wife and I couldn't resist. Cheaper and more capable than any jeep or truck I'd pick up and have to mod.
The ride is amazing, all of the bells and whistles that now I'm not sure if I could live without. I love the backup assist mirrors, independent climate controls, power leather seats...
... and with 37" tires, it still fits in my garage.
This is my Corvette made for Canadian Winters!

I used to think Hummers were pretty dumb, too big, too expensive to buy and own, poser trucks for idiots. But I'm not a grumpy old man so I'll give anything a fair chance.
So I went on a trail ride in Brian's H2........ I knew I had to have a HUMMER!
And here I am now with a Hummer in the garage and couldn't be happier with it. I'll echo all the positive comments made above since I agree with them all. All it took was one ride in a Hummer and I was sold.

A friend of mine always laughed at me for buying a Hummer and could never understand why I bought one. He came on a day trip with me and drove it for a couple of hours....HE WAS SOLD!! He has a new car right now, but swears he will buy a Hummer as his next vehicle. Like Nothing Else!!

I like my Hummer for its style, power, big interior space, off road capacity. This looks like very cofident on the road(not over confident)! Almost everybody is paying attention to this vehicle! Some people look at Hummer with good attitude, some people-with bad one! Defenitely everybody is paying respect to this car: some people in good way,but some people in bad way! I like it I enjoy it and I can say one more time: Hummer is like nothing else! <img src='

I don't have a Hummer yet, but I've been trying to find my perfect H3T for about a year now. I've always been a fan of the H1's but have never had the money or need for one. I've always grown up and worked for a living with whatever vehicle so I need something to be practical as well as comfortable as a daily driver. I do pull a small enclosed trailer with tools and my quad when I am racing.
I have volunteered with a local fire-fighter/rescue squad since I was 16 (now 21) and need something durable and very offroad capable, most people on the squad have dodge/ford diesels or jeeps: lifts, big tires, but the ride is harsh as can be, and with most of the jeeps, the power is lacking when the larger trucks get hung up, or worse.
I've test driven maybe a dozen h3's now, and I've decided on a 3T Alpha for the truck box AND slantback combination for the extra storage, towing capacity, and the fact I can keep everything secure even if I do lose a little visibility with the Slant'.
The only problem with me finding one is I'm looking for a white 3T alpha with cloth. I've been to Southgate in Edmonton, Shaw in Calgary, and both Wheaton dealers, and it's an anomaly in Canada. I'm not a die-hard Hummer guy to speak the truth, but I do appreciate the function and practicality they possess, and do get rather frustrated by the elitism symbol that follows them, to see one covered in tacky-chrome-stick-on-everything-possible on 26" rims with 30 profile tires bothers me like a Corvette that sees gravel everyday. Just seems bss ackwards, but that's my opinion.
