Nice.... I have to ask as I'm thinking of the same things.... why'd you decide to go all air lockers thus removing the rear E-locker instead of simply adding the E-Locker to the front?
I weighing th pros and cons - I like the ability of air lockers as you don;t have to be in low gear to activate... but the cost will be substantially more.... Is that what made you decide?

Ya pretty much Dave , thats what sold me on them ...and the price wasnt to bad , being part of this group has its benefits lol. I also knew that I wanted a air system hard mounted in my truck to air the tires back up and Ill have that with this set up.

Totally agree, I think that helps me make up my mind as well and wait and save more and do it right.
Which air system are you putting in? Now, will one compressor run everything as at one point I heard you need a separate one for running air lockers? (Kinda handy that you looked more into this first!...) Is it a 4X4 shop in Edmonton that's doing the work?

Do 4.88 gears fit into the OEM the carrier for the H2?
I want to put 4.88 into my truck as well to correct the speedometer and restore my stock gear ratios. They fit into the back, but not the front. I havn't priced out what a Dana44 conversion would cost... or even who could do such a thing.

I'm just using the ARB compressor and I was told that's all I need and that it will also air my big tires back up ....it does look pretty small the compressor but the thing is heavy as hell lol ...the lockers actually don't need a lot of air to engage , so I've been told.
Well my regular mechanic who knows H2's inside and out said he could install them but after he read the manuals he was honest with me and said "find a specialist" ...I did panic at first cause I couldn't find anyone with experience installing air lockers but then I lucked out and got the guy who does all the diff work and all types of lockers for 3 4x4 shops in town so I just called him up and asked if he could do it ....he said yup no prob and man he blew me away with his knowledge ...he has installed a lot of ARB lockers ...he even puts heat resistant tubing around the air lines and protects them against rocks and sticks ....I feel a lot better knowing someone with experience with air lockers is installing them cause I did a lot of research and installation is where you can have big problems if not done right .

That was the first question I asked a lot of people and they all said yup should fit just fine ....that's funny nick that you want to do a dana 44 in front ..I actually looked into doing a dana 60 in the front and when I asked how much I was told "a lot" lol ..

Re: Alberta October Trail Ride
Lockers would come in real handy!
I decided not to look at gearing down, I'd rather add a supercharger down the road when I can afford it...
I'm tossing between the air and electronic route.... I know I would prefer the air lockers, but honestly for the amount I offroad.... the electronic would be fine that way I leave the rear end alone and half the cost...
Still putting in an air system though with a 5 gallon tank behind my rear bumper..... E-Mortal is all set as soon as I have the money. I kept kicking the slot machine and it didn't help....

Re: Alberta October Trail Ride
Hmmmm, I fixed my horn... well, kind of.
Installed a brand new one; the "highway blaster!". Little did I know that there is a "high note" and "Low note" horn... I thought all horns were created equal.
sigh, of course I grabbed the high note one... it now sounds like a VW beetle when I honk. <img src='http://www.canadianhummerclub.com/forum ... edface.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':oops:' />
Dave you are going to have a field day with this one <img src='http://www.canadianhummerclub.com/forum ... lleyes.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='::)' />
