I like the switch plate location... I'd be dead if I did that though, removing one ever so important cup holder would certainly catch my wife's attention. <img src='

I am working on putting a switch plate in the over head where the map lights and sunroof buttons are.

I've thought about repurposing one of the sunglasses holders for a switch bank. Do you have details / pics of your build?

i would actually like to see if there is a way to mount the cb radio unit up there.
is it true with a cb that any sort of power wire cannot cross paths with the antenna wire
anyone?

I am going to be putting 10 switched in the overhead. Each will have a red LED and a Green LED to indicate on/off. Otherwise the LEDs may just show activation, like for the winch control, it will be IN/OUT. I'll post pics once I get to it, haven't had time to start it yet.

That would be a tight fit for a CB up there. I have seen some pictures where people have re-molded that over head console and added length and depth to accommodate the size of a CB.
Cross paths is not so bad, running them parallel to each other is not wise, same goes for networking and telephone wiring in a house. You can get induced electrical noise in to the neighboring wires. In the case of a CB, if you happen to have a crappy alternator that is putting out a dirty electrical signal... if the antenna wire is close to the power wire the CB will pick it up, much like AM radio stations do. In a car, that is the whining sound you can here in the background of the radio when you accelerate and decelerate the whine goes up and down in pitch. But really, a CB generally will pick that up regardless. So it is not a huge concern, if you can keep them a little separate great, if not, you will probably be OK in today's vehicles anyway. Either way, you won't blow anything up.
Hope that helps.

What do you mean, "hide away" this term interests me. <img src='

I like your lighting layout... do you have any rock lights under the truck?
I am very close to having my switch plate completed.. OMG there was a lot of friggin' soldering. Hopefully, by the end of this weekend, it will be installed... then I will post the pictures I have been taking.
