Thank you. These are 10 ply radials. There are a lot of options on the vehicle. In addition to that I travel with tool chests in the back (until I get use to what I will need to fix). I took it to our scale and it weighed almost 10,000 lbs.

It has a roof rack, internal racks, tire on the back. It also has a brush guard being fabricated for it now. It is a wagon, 1999.

Has anyone here upgrade 10.3k half shafts to 12k? I am interested but don't want to break something else in the vehicle if the half shafts I have now should.

My opion would be keep the 10300 shafts as it will be the weak link in the drive line. When going to 12100 shafts, I do not know what will break first......

Don't worry about the weight, as long as the tires are not bolging too much, the tire pressure is good

The 12k shafts will still be the weak spot, as confirmed by many who have done the swap over on the HML.

Quoted from member Humvette -

10k shafts

- not as strong as 12k

- do weigh a little less than 12k

- have more articulation

- cannot hyper extend themselves

12k shafts

- There is a common misconception that if you put 12k shafts on you will break other stuff. However the 12k shafts on a full 12k truck are still the weakest link. That is why I changed my front and rear driveshafts.

I use 35-38 on fronts and 40 on backs due to small leaking issue, stock alpha 2 piece rims and 37s BKGs KO
