I'm taking it that the trail was a little to much for everyone.

I do apoligize.

And not sure if I read that right but that wasn't a quad trail.

It was most definatly a truck trail.

Hey - no apology is necessary! Dude you are the one to always step up and get us going! Kinda nice that I'm starting to get to know the trails now to as I got to get the family to the lake! I tried one time and got totally lost...

I wouldn't mind doing McLean again sometime soon! I must admit - my friggin gut was sore at the end of the day from laughing soo much! That was a totally awesome run! (Except for Nick's truck of course...)

Hey Brian, hope I didn't come off sounding like I was whining on the trail thing---I'll run whatever is thrown out there, and we appreciate you picking a spot to do the run at! I was feeling some tire envy as I had to just sit back and get pulled out of damn near everything, not necessarily a bad thing as it's easier on parts.

Once again, I definitely appreciate having you and your gang out on these runs, I'm amazed at how smooth of an operation you guys run being able to survive out in the woods; I'm still amazed when we got to Lake Margaret that they already had a roaring fire going and were roasting weenies! Man those guys are ready to set up camp anywhere!

Thanks again and I'm looking forward to more trail runs---
You ain't havin' fun until it comes home on a flatbed!

Steve - thanks for the ride back into town! Karl - I hope you enjoyed your stay at casa de' McGregor - the kids loved ya!

But to Karl & Jared - Can't thank you enough for going back in with me to get my Baby back - Could not have done it without you so I can truly say I am extremely proud to call you my friends![/quote]

Of course I was very pleased to stay with you, Dave! Thanks to you and your wife for your hospitality. Your kids are wonderful little girls!

It was a pleasure to return the favor (also for the ride to the parts store the next morning!) and help you and your ride out of that mess. Good to hear the mechanicals aren't as bad as we all thought!!

The noises in my front-end continued all the way back out...in fact got much worse. But they were ONLY present when I decelerated or coasted down a hill. Image Image Image

Sooooooo... After i figured out how NOT to have that horrible clicking/grinding/sounding-like-CV joint-tearing-apart noise... I just kept the brakes on and the Revs up whenever I needed to slow down (which like you referred to earlier, is not all that often Image ). On the highway it was much easier, and I made the 3 hour drive home no problem. Spent the day cleaning her yesterday, and been way too busy catching up on work today, but tomorrow I am taking her in to get checked... Will keep you 'posted' Image

I had a blast, Dave. Can't wait till the next ride!!

We got Carl out in no time early this afternoon--he'd just broken the outer ball joint, less than ten minutes to replace and he was off on his crazy way. Then he caught up with Dave and waited out at Waipourous Valley road for the wrecker that Dave had decided to call to just pull the 2 completely out of there.

I'd pretty much figured with Carl's truck running again, and Dave footing the bill on a wrecker (Ouch!), that I'd forgo running back in there with them since I'd pretty much need to be pulled out of most of the mudholes. I headed back to camp to pack up and head out.

So, not sure Dave's status yet, but the weather was holding, though overcast, by the time we left camp tonight at about 530.

Jim.. thankya SOOOOO much for the quick fix on my ball joint! I will NEVER go out again without a couple of those on hand as spares! Dude I had a blast with you and can't wait to come down to your neck of the woods.. or I guess I should say desert. Mojave next year for sure!! Or hey...maybe this fall or early winter?? Anyone else wanna cruise south with me? Image
