The right tools can make the job go very quickly, once I got some of the right tools I've been able to do things in just a few hours that would have otherwise taking me weeks on end.

Yup.... And unfortunately I am going to be delayed longer now... Started the re-assembly today but wanted to flush the lines first.... So without them attached to the gear box... I fired her up.... And not even a drip!!

Need to replace the pump again...

Can't win....Image

Not bad finally... Got the housing out today and replaced the pump and have it installed again, just starting to put the alternator back in and it started to rain...

B-man popped over yesterday for moral support and to yank what I think now is the return line off for me as I was stumped and afraid to ruin it... I guess I gotta stop trying to be so gentle, but I have a history of breaking things while trying to fix them...

It's stopped now but my oldest is graduating this weekend so gotta take him for a new shirt at market mall... Try and do some more tomorrow...

Waiting for the flat deck to arrive....

Kinda sucks to get it done just to find out you are fubar'd cuz I didn't double check the new gear box was centered... Just to have my shop say.... They never are, it's the first thing you have to set.... DHOA!!!

I just hope he will be able to get the pitman arm off...

Been quiet lately.....

So the truck is back in the shop again with the proper pitman arm... Man this has been a nightmare. If any of you guys ever have to replace this... DO NOT USE an aftermarket arm... Get it through shaw and make sure you know if it's a 3 or 4 grove!

If I hear one more time from someone "oh this one will fit"... The standard GM Truck pitman arm WILL NOT fit!! And that's what the aftermarket ones are...

I'm glad the guy at shaw remembered me as I kinda used the ploy that it was his fault for giving me the wrong one as they won't usually take back a part after it was installed... But he did thank god as this has been a very very expensive endeavor! But that weee bit of driving I have done back and forth to and from the shop has been a dream!! Steering is awesome now! What ever change they made for the 2008+ was not for the better... Cuz really,.. This should not have failed!

I think I should be ok for the June run now.... Been up in the air until now....

Just picked up some SAE 75W-90 Amsoil today for the front diff... 20$ a litre at partsource, they didn't even know they had it in stock until I asked, lol

Not a bad deal considering Lucus Oil was 18.99 and Castrol was 22.99

Lol - we probably passed each other as I was there this afternoon returning the pump core.... But I was at the north one though, and you probably went to the south...

I know I shouldn't be driving around but I couldn't help it today... Steering is 10X better than it ever has been, even before I noticed something was wrong!! Just glad I'm finally done. I'll take a trip down to Rick to get an alignment and then on to new things

My pot is almost ready for new tires in the fall, I wanna see G's installed as I was looking at those to so I'd love to see them in action....still leaning towards the Dynapro's though...

Not sure what you mean?... Imperial to metric? Or a fuel conversion?
