I spent about 28$ today, so cheaper than normal! I also pulled the air box right out of the truck and cleaned it, a bit of mud had gotten in there this time.

So after I finished my carwash my power steering came back 100% <img src='http://www.canadianhummerclub.com/forum ... iggrin.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' />

By the time I got home it had crapped out again though <img src='http://www.canadianhummerclub.com/forum ... /angry.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='>:(' />

I am going to let it dry out for a day or so, then spend some time to bolt on the side steps and brush off any dirt or mud underneath on the creeper. After that I will really clean out the interior, pull off the plastic on the side of the carpets to get the mud out of there, then pop by the car was again to do a final cleaning. Then I will rub in some Turtle Wax ICE to mask any scratches.... whew.

I will likely make an appointment for Thursday.

Thanks again everyone for an awesome time! That was my first time at McLean so it was great to see some new trails, and I never realized it's actually closer than Waiparous!

Bad string of luck with the T there Nick but in this case I really don't think you're to blame. Other than bringing up the RPM you did nothing to cause the power steering to fail. The whole point of a tach with a red line is A) to not over rev the engine and B ) to not over rev the accessories, so IMO this truly is a manufacturing defect since operating the vehicle within GM parameters should not cause failure!

This was probably one of those 'bound to happen' problems that was just waiting for the right conditions, so yeah it sucks but this one ain't your fault!!!

Any fisherman here? I'd love to head to Margaret Lake at Waiparous this summer and try my luck!

Margaret Lake - I'm in!!!

I wanted to try my luck before I take the kids out there so I can get a feel of teh fish and what works and what doesn't. I spin cast as I don;t like fly fishing so it can be a bit more fun for me... let me know! Plus I need to remember how to get there!

Nick - I have a feeling the output seal around the shaft is what's leaking. It probably holds until it builds up to a certain pressure and then lets go again...
