found a great armour against scratches but an H3 wrapped in bubble wrap looks funny and is hard to get into.

Re: ONTARIO-Get Together May 24th Sunday 2009
Hello Members!
I am very new to the club, and would like to say hello to everyone, and that I am sorry that I did not know about this site/club sooner as I would absolutly love to be a part of an event like this, and it was sort of one of the reasons why I got my truck in the first place. I have moved here from Alberta and am right in the middle of all the formalities of tranfering the truck over to Ontario so as to be "legal" , so unfortunately I will not be able to make it to this event without anything short of a miracle, which I will not rule out, as through out my various adventures with this amazing machine I belive I have been witness to many! The cross country drive to try and make it home for Christmas comes immediatly to mind, but that is another story, one that will most assuredly be in the book of "My Hummer Adventures" that I hope to get out there one day to try and help illustrate to all the Hummerless people of the world that we are not all evil rich environment abusers, and the true frequency and amplitude of utter predjudice and harrassment that many if not all of us face!
My own personal soft spot for causes is Breast Cancer, and I know that Lupus is as equally devastating to sufferers, family and friends alike. I will as a new member try to join in and do my part as I can see you all have been doing for some time. I am almost afraid to to even bring it up, as in my mind I feel as if it is too self-serving, but what is a forum for if it is not a place to find out others opinions? Since coming to the realization that I would have to sell my truck I have allways felt that if I had some help, as red tape and paper work are not my forte to say the least, I would be able to raise some money to help out this cause. My thinking has ranged from such things as lottery's to silent auctions, but basicaly I would be willing to donate a part of the sale towards a charity. I have not been following to resale value of these trucks as closely lately as I used to, and I would imagine that like most of us owners it is often more about "having" to sell than "wanting" to sell. So , that being said, I am not in a position to donate all of the proceeds, so I would like to make the amount that ends up being over and above, as large as possible. This is where the feedback aspect towards this idea would be very helpfull, perhaps for all I know this sort of thing happens all the time , or at least a few times before, and all I need to do is follow the path of those before me? But as us owners can all atest to, sometimes if there is no path you have to make your own!
So in my mind I would hope that with appropriate time and energy, the "leverage" that would be possible could be in the neighborhood of 100% so these numbers being rough ballparkish figures (obviously make , model, condition, extras, all influence the price, but with charity, so equally does marketing, exposure, and audiance) and go as follows, I would like to belive that my truck is worth at least $30,000 , of this I would be able to donate anything over $25,000 , now I know that $5,000 is not that much, and I could just sell the truck on my own and make the donation, what I would hope would be possible is to sell the truck for more like $50,000 , thus making the donation in the $25,000 range. So if you have an opinion on the feasability of this and/or some advice as to go about it, I am open to any and all help towards this goal/aspiration, and any and all help is greatly appreciated. Since I have started entertaining the notion of selling, the offers I have recieved have ranged from $25,000 to $38,000 , the larger of the two being at least over a couple of years ago, so what with current "markets" is probably not realistic anymore, but like I said before, with a community like this I would hope and imagine that working together this sort of thing could become the future, win , win , senario for all those needing to sell their Hummers, and the causes and charities that could and allready do benifit from all your events and fundraisings?
I am sorry if this is the wrong place to post this message, I will become more familiar with the site as I go! I hope everyone that makes it out to this event has a great time and Happy May Long 24 !!
