Yeah, they are awesome little cameras. I saw somebody record an entire off-road trip and then used some editing software to speed the whole thing up into a 15 minute video... was pretty cool to watch. A few guys also use them at Autocross, the camera has a bit of a wide angle lens so they make very good videos for motorsports.
For off-road one of the neat places to mount the camera on the rear driver side, it lets the camera capture the terrain more dramatically and you can see the suspension articulating the wheel.

I don't think I can do the 10th; But I'm up for playing the snow some other time. Got stuck just last week in a big drift behind the office that I just couldn't resist.

I tried to use my little compressor to go from 34psi to 35psi.... so the TPMS sensor would turn off, I let it run for 15 minutes and it didn't do anything for those big tires.
So I finally got around to picking up an ARB portable air-compressor, should come in handy for this run!

I use a modified Warn VTC compressor. Why modified...because I don't leave anything anything stock and I wanted a bit more output than it was set-up for! Now I get 145psi instead of 100psi! And I can actually run air tools!
Kev
PS: When are you guys going to come and play in Quebec???

All the talk of playing in the snow has me itching, so I'm gonna try to make it. I just might have to bend a few of the posted speed reccomendations to get back in time.
I really want to try out my new toy as well.

You better find a good place to locate it! Otherwise it will look really cool having mud come toward the lens...once!
I'd like to try one out myself!
Kev
Haven't had it on the truck much yet, but did stick it to the top of my hockey helmet last week. Really impressed with how it turned out. Only downside is that the HD video files are huge, so I need to get up to speed with video editting to be able to share.

Re: Where is Alberta
Man what a day... I am exhausted
So many hills, as soon as you crest the top of one it was back down a few hundred feet to start the next one. Sorry you missed your hockey game Steve, I was kind of hoping to be out of there a lot earlier myself... it was a really bad idea to hit the quad trails. We should have followed Harold back when we had the chance!
I guess there is one thing to be thankful for, I was absolutely positive that little white beat up Jeep XJ with 4" of ground clearance and 26" bald radials was going to have to be winched all the way through... I still can't believe he made it up every single hill, seriously it boggles the mind <img src='http://www.canadianhummerclub.com/forum ... >/ohmy.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':o' />
I was happy to finish the day with every hill under my belt unassisted, some took a few tries but the ol' H3T pulled me up every time. I finally found the sweet spot for hill climbing... it is flat out in 3rd gear in low range with both lockers <img src='http://www.canadianhummerclub.com/forum ... >/grin.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=';D' />
Anyway here are some pictures from the day;

Re: Where is Alberta
Nice Picks Nick. I had a quick look at the video files; there's probably 2+ hours worth collected (about 8 GB) so it will take a while to pick out the good stuff.
It was a long day but I did manage to make it to the rink. Only 20 minutes late after hauling a$$ down the trunk road.
That little wonder Jeep was pretty impressive. Just goes to show how much difference the right rubber makes.... That and a complete disregard for vehicle damage.

Re: Where is Alberta
That is awesome if you still made your game! I was late for dinner so it was cold... almost as cold as the stare from my wife for being back so late <img src='http://www.canadianhummerclub.com/forum ... >/grin.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=';D' />
I think the fact the wonder Jeep was aired down to 12psi helped him out a lot, that and the fact it didn't sit down in the rear when he hit the hill... because it literally had no suspension travel left! He was lucky he didn't throw a tire with that little PSI on a non-off-road rated tire... or shear off parts of his undercarriage with such low ground clearance.
When I was bringing up the rear and following him out, there was perfectly formed lines in the snow from his oil pan plowing the snow away in the middle <img src='http://www.canadianhummerclub.com/forum ... iggrin.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':D' />
It was kind of fun to mix it up with other types of vehicle owners out there for a change, although I am looking forward to another club run next time <img src='http://www.canadianhummerclub.com/forum ... >/cool.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='8)' />
Although I do have a co-worker I want to bring out with built up FJ cruiser; it has all the goodies. He bought it off the showroom at Toyota and has had it for 2 years now and it has NEVER been off-road.

Re: Where is Alberta
Yeah - I ate some humble pie that day!!! who would have thought these procomps would be soooo pathetic in the snow! I think next rubber change - going back to BFG AT's as I'm in snow alot more often than Mud which is the only thing they aren't that good in!
Steve - thanks again for the hauling of my ass around as per emails... Should have brought the H2!!
Harold - sorry we didn't have the right radios to stay in touch I turned mine off once I realized everyone else had a different type - I think the Hummers would have stuck together instead of going on with the others... leaving you 2 behind wasn't cool in my books - funny part is, it would have been better for us all in the end...
My H3 going in tomorrow so I'll you guys know what the damage report is.... I can't see any major damage to the eye but I am counting on replacing the control arm at least, and a pretty major alignment. If that is it though - that says alot for these H3's as I hit that boulder doing at least 30 - back end came up and everything.... A little nervous to say the least...
I think we should plan an early spring run - but be better prepared and plan the route according to the terrain conditions at the time...
What u guys think?

Re: Where is Alberta
Yeah that was a bit of a nightmare with the radios, only a few guys had them and mine seemed to have pretty s**tty range. It was causing a bit of problems when we needed to talk to guys at the bottom of the hill who didn't have radios... also huge problems when Fraser went ahead for 45 minutes out of range while we needed that extra tow strap he was carrying to pull Dave up.
Dave, you make a good point about turning back too, I think in the future we need to stick closer together even if we are traveling with other groups and if one person turns back we should all follow suit.
In this case we were too far apart and I had no radio contact with the leader, I couldn't even see anybody except Steve ahead of me. The only saving grace in this situation was I knew at least with Harold there they would both make it back ok. Honestly I was really expecting this run to be more organized.
I hope the damage is minimal on your H3, that was kind of s**tty luck to hit that bolder. When I first saw your ass end swing out I thought the embankment gave way.
What kind of PSI were you running in your tires for the trip? I wonder if you had lowered them down a bit more if you would have gotten better bite on some of those hills. I had mine down to about 25psi, was sure glad they don't charge for air at Cochrane gas stations!
I would be in for a run maybe in mid to late March.
