My understanding is that there may be quite a bit of snow in around the ghost town, it should be some packed down trails which will make it passable, but expect to get stuck if you stray off the trails at all. Then again, conditions may have changed, so who knows what you will be encountering. The last group that went up there was about 4 weeks ago, it took them about 4 hours to do what would take them 40 mins or so in the summer.

Hey not sure if we're headed in the exact right location, but in the general area there is also the wreckage of a plane crash! Somewhere on the south side of the highway, would also be cool to see!

Again not sure the precise location of it though...

I know where this is, and how to get there. However I don't think you can get there until later this spring, it is at a higher elevation.

That's where a spotter would come in.... I think you'd be fine!

I wonder if we have any trails like that which aren't widely known, but driving along a mountain ledge would definitely be a rush of a life time!

If you read the comments, there is a guy who slide off of that trail and luckily landed on a boulder.

I'd be ok doing that in something a little smaller like a quad or a side by side... wouldn't want to do it in a Hummer!

Well.... Black Bear Pass is part of this Septembers Hummer Club event. We'll take Black Bear Pass to get to Moab from Durnago. In the video you can frequently see Telluride in the background.

Quite honestly, I've posted a fair bit about this falls trip and I'm rather amazed that no one is planning on coming. This is likely the single best Hummer event in the world - and this year will likely be one of the best years ever and most likely the last time that AM General will participate. It's simply a golden opportunity for any Hummer owner.

I have a Black Bear Pass story to tell.

About 4, maybe 5 years ago my wife and I were doing Black Bear along with the CEO of the AM General Engine Plant and his wife - great folks.

I was leading and as we climbed and climbed to almost 13,000ft there was a problem in the other truck. They radioed us to stop. There was a loud bang while they were driving on fairly simple terrain. They were investigating but everything seemed fine... Then they smelled what happened. A bag of potato chips exploded in the thin air!

I can't emphasize enough how cool the trip this fall will be. Super high altitude wheeling with simply amazing scenery. Ghost towns, abandoned mines, high altitude waterfalls, even driving the Million Dollar Highway - and of course the legend that is Moab. All with AM General and dealership support if you need it.

I missed last year but I wouldn't miss this one for the world! If you're thinking 'one day' - make it this year.

NICE!! I'd be all over this if I lived in Colorado <img src='http://www.canadianhummerclub.com/forum ... /smile.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':)' /> But would only be a day and a half drive to get there i think...<img src='http://www.canadianhummerclub.com/forum ... unsure.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' />

Here's another great video...much longer though:

Sorry Greg, I will likely be in China by September.
