I think we will still be doing it, these posts always seem to perk up once we are closer to the date.... I think it will be kewl!!!!

We should really start by getting the route we are going to take established, then picking our overnight spots and points of interest along the way.

Sugar - why don't you lead the way with the route as you're probably the most familiar with the trip?

I will have to spend some time with a Map to come up with some proposed routes and stops; did you guys want to stay at a hotel on the way down or hit up campsites? I think once we get into the trail there will be some camping for sure.



Rolling through some of those small towns should be a lot of fun because a lot of people have never really even seen a Hummer up close, never mind a huge pack of them! When I was down there this year I had a lot of people coming up to check out the truck... on the ferry the guy becide me had a brand new M3 and he got no love at all <img src='http://www.canadianhummerclub.com/forum ... oflmao.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':rotflmao:' />

I did some digging tonight; basically here is route that the CT4WD guys took.



Day 1: Leave early from Calgary to Revelstoke, turn down to Nakusp and have lunch. From Nakusp head down towards Osoyoos and find a spot to camp out of the way maybe 45 mins from Princeton.



Day 2: Leave Osoyoos, go to Princeton and head into the Wipsaw area. One into the trail they headed up towards the Jeff Janzen memorial rock, which was easy; it got a bit toughter after that and they made it as far as the lake where they planned to camp out.... which was occupied by 20 Jeepers, so they continued on into the night up to the summit of Falcon Hill.



NOTE: You need somebody with a CB radio to travel on the logging roads as the lead vehicle. Also we are looking for this sign to point us onto the trail; they got lost for about 2 hours looking for the entrance.





Day 3: Trail goes down from the summit back into the forested area, it does get a lot harder going and took them about 6 hours of driving to get out. I believe they drove to Osoyoos again to camp out before heading home.



Day 4: They took the long way home (same as going down)

Nathan said if you take your time and sight see along the way, it should take about 8 hours of travel time on the trail to complete it start to finish. I don't think trying to do it in one day is a good idea, so we should plan on camping somewhere in the middle for one night.



Now my question to you guys is, do you want to seek out campsites on the way down... or look at staying at a cheap motel when we arrive and when we depart? In my experience hotels are around the $90 a night mark, motels maybe $60... we could do double occupancy for anybody interested in keeping the costs down as well.

We could change up the route a bit too; instead of heading East out of Nakusp we could instead head South and go through the Monashee pass (which is one of the top rated driving/senic highways in Canada) and pit stop in Pentiction.... I even know a perfect little motel right on the lake that is reasonably priced, I typically spend Canada day there every year.



It is only about a 1.5 hour drive to Princeton after that as well, again through some very scenic mountain areas in that region.



Monashee pass Video... these highways are actually so engaging it gets hard not to start powering through the corners!
