I still Love Spray Lakes and Canmore - is there a more challenging way we can get there on the back roads by any chance?

So I went and had a nice chat with our Emortal Buddies this afternoon and Rick is going to look into the E-Locker Low gear by-pass for me and I will be ordering my Detroit TruTrak when I get back from California.



Done a fair bit of research on it and I think it's the best way to go. The article about not using big tires is just a standard disclaimer that everyone puts out these days and Rick had them both front and rear on his Toxic TJ and he was running 600 hp with at least 44" tires on that puppy and he had no issues as all so I think I will be fine! This way I will have full traction and still have free range of steering...



Bumper and winch will be next year...unless I win the lotto.... Man this having a family... going on vacations, and running a household really taps into the play money!!!

Ok dudes let me know what you think about Brian's idea #4.. which is... Waiparous and dinner in the bush. I'll explain why I think it's the best idea. First we can start a little later than usual so Nick can travel with the group, bring the kids with sleds and toboggans, bring the little propane grill to cook up some burgers and hot dogs, few cold ones around a warm fire... lots of time to socialize for sure.



Then, depending on the new guys we can always do an hour on the trail type thing, bit of an orientation if you want to call it that just to introduce any new members to the off-road experience! Tons of time to socialize and laugh, but to me it just wouldn't sit right with me if the off-road part was left out entirely... plus if we really want to get people hooked you gotta give em a taste and leave them wanting more!! There's the river crossing just across the road from the pit area (depending how snowy the hill descent is.. could be a little much for first time out) but man I was just giddy after I did that the first time... I just drove through a damn river!! Amazing!! I really think this is an important element for recruiting people to the club.



If I try to see it from the perspective of someone who has never been out with the club before and never been off road, I think I'd get the wrong impression about the club if we went for a cruise then to a pub, know what I mean? If the one event of the year where you try to actively recruit new members is completely different from every other outing all year long? Everyone would enjoy the cruise for sure, but if you ask me it just doesn't fit.



I'll enjoy myself no matter what so personally I am not picky, but in the interest of growing the club and local members... ?

Well I guess I will leave it up to you guys, but more than likely I will be out for any off-roading for two reasons; first is I really can't risk damaging the truck right before I need to take it on a major trip, the second being that my wife pretty much refuses to come out to off-road events.

Dude - I'm bringing the kids so it will be kept fairly tame if we hit the hills - take pictures!!!

im out as far as off roading goes but i think the fire and bush dinner would be a good idea

right at home in tha woods.lol

although it is so much work to make a decent dinner in the bush
