here are some new pics, the lifting frame d-rings are only temp to align my hood snubs. I'm also still waiting on the intercooler and Im taking the tranny fluid lines and cooler out tomorrow to have the proper ones made up for my application.



Notice the new mounting sdpot for the fuel cooler. Straight above the rear diff but far enough back so the u-joint doesn't cover it in grease.



The steering wheel on the ground is the donor's original, it's just there until it starts for good and then see ya later. I'll wire in the one that came with the H1 once the body is back on.

The 4 inch exhaust is great and once it's completely welded I will wrap it in exhaust wrap heat tape.

Be careful with exhaust wrap, while it will work great as a heat shield, if you off-road and it gets soaked repeatedly you pipes will suffer more than the wrap...make sure you get one that is designed for off-road use!!! They do exist!!

You should also try and mount the fuel cooler up front with the rads, as where you have it will not allow sufficient cooling due to lack of airflow. remember the fuel cools the computer on the Duramax so you need to make sure it is actually being cooled!!

Now that's a great point, I did not know that the fuel cools the computer. I will mount it up front or put a electric fan on it back there.



What computer does the fuel cool???



As fot the exhaust wrap, I think your right and I'm just going to scrap that idea.

Your Main Engine computer should have 2 fuel lines running through the mounting plate and there should also be cooling fins.



I don't think in the rear over the diff even with an electric cooling fan it will get enough airflow...much better up front!



Question:



Have you considered a One Piece Aluminum Rad that does all of your main cooling??



Intercooler, Engine Oil Cooler, Transmission Oil Cooler and Radiator...you would eliminate the major problems with debris getting stuck in between the rads and having over heating issues!

I would have to disagree, I think that the cooler would get heat soaked from the other coolers up front when stuck in traffic or off road. In the back there will be no heat issues, besides the gmc truck that the fuel cooler came off of just had it mounted near the fuel tank and they seem to work fine.



I checked out the computers on the truck and they don't have the fuel running through them for cooling. I know that the pcm in 2006 changed, but I don't know what changed. Maybe the earlier model were cooled that way?

Guys, she runs smooth now. I had a guy overide the passlock and give it a good tune. Not bad for $300 bucks. Now where in business

How much mileage does your H1 have?? If the flanges are moving up and down the same amount front and rear, I would encourage you to pull the axle shafts (use a slide hammer) the splines may be getting worn and therefore allowing extra movement. Also your axle shaft bearing is probably weak and should be replaced. It is also possible that your Diff may need a new center...if so install front and rear ARB Air Lockers...they are very strong and will give you way more traction!!
