Yeah that's why I need to borrow one! Image If you don't get stuck, then you're not offloading right!

I was told it is "If you don't get stuck, you're not trying hard enough" but either way, all part of the fun

I am planning on getting a VHF radio just need to budget for it.

Having a VHF radio won't help you with the trail runs, they don't use the same frequency as CB radios, although they have eroded so much of the Amateur Radio license requirements in the last few years, there maybe a VHF/CB combo on the market.

Wideload H1

Rckcrwler Chev or H1?

Johnny H3

Victan H3

I have a site picked out to camp at up high awesome view lots of places to pitch a tent depending on numbers of who are coming I have a back up site as well it is awesome as well. As we get closer to the date that will determine location as well if it is going to be a wet weekend or not. If it is going to be wet will chose second site, this way I will bring in my little camper trailer and set up the monster tarp so we have a dry area to sit and have campfire.

I am probably going in on the Thursday to set up and make sure we have area to ourselves so if anyone wants to come up on the Friday they are welcome to as well just let me know and we will set up meet time and place.

As for meeting time was thinking Noon Sat at Orillia Canadian Tire this way we can get everybody in to site set you up then we can do dinner and then get ready for a night run.

We can do dinner 2 ways:

I can pick up some steaks,Homemade Burgers,Dogs we can decide on one and all the fixings and we split the bill this will include breakfast?

Or we can do a potluck for dinner/breakfast?

If doing a potluck for both meals lets try to agree on one meat steak,Ground Hamburger and I will make my home style burgers or Hot Dogs for dinner and bacon eggs and toast for breakfast.

EVERYBODY RESPONSIBLE for your own drinks water, pop, juice, beer, snacks and CHAIR.

I will have my trail bbq there she is a gem everybody can use it.

Some things to remember to bring:

2 way radio we use channel 4 a must

Straps not necessary if your first time out

Shackle's not necessary if first time out

Extra pair of shoes

Warm clothes

BUG REPELLENT

Bear Repellent (just Sue lol)

Tent or a small trailer

Drinks/Chair

CAMERA

FLASHLIGHTS

So post your ideas suggestions thoughts etc.......

Cheers

John

Personally, I like the everything in one plan.. and split the bill. It seems easier, and then less people have to try and keep food fresh if they are travelling etc. or be a problem if something comes up and they can't make it. But, it also makes more work for JB. As always, I'm not picky (but those home made burgers sure are tasty). I also have a small BBQ I can throw in if it will help.

PS, I LOVE the meeting time!! Noon is good. <img src='http://www.canadianhummerclub.com/forum ... ght_on.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':right_on:' /> <img src='http://www.canadianhummerclub.com/forum ... rgreen.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' />

You had mentioned last time out you were looking for one trade in Chev I guess it was just me caught up in the moment when you got stuck and bent your new bumper <img src='http://www.canadianhummerclub.com/forum ... oflmao.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':rotflmao:' />
No, you were right. I did mention that I was wanting to trade my Chevy for an H1.

It wasn't the bumper that bent, it was the trucks fenders! Just imagine if I had the stock bumpers on! I wouldn't have had a bumper to drive home with as it would be in my bed all ripped & twisted up. Like a rock that campaign slogan sure was true, mine sunk like one in the snow. Image

Damn it, I typed offroading and my iPad corrected it to offloading. I didn't even notice that! Image

Really? I was told that a VHF radio would be better for trail riding, guess the guy didn't know what he was talking about.

I agree it would be better just to throw some money Johns way for food.

Been there, done that.. both on the iPad and my phone. <img src='http://www.canadianhummerclub.com/forum ... rgreen.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' /> besides, I didn't notice the mistake either. <img src='http://www.canadianhummerclub.com/forum ... oflmao.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':rotflmao:' />

Well who ever told you that is correct in a technical sense. VHF radios have a crap load more transmission power then CB radios, and would work better in the bush as trees etc. absorb RF which reduces your transmission range. But, unless we all had one you would have no one to talk to. <img src='http://www.canadianhummerclub.com/forum ... unsure.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' /> Now if we all went VHF, like in the 2 meter range, we could talk to each other in different cities! That would be cool, pricey, but cool!
Rckcrwlr are you riding with Wideload I'm pretty sure your chev is way toooooooo long to fit the turns <img src='http://www.canadianhummerclub.com/forum ... /blink.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' />
I will be in a convoy with WIDELOAD in my own rig. I'll make it fit even if I have to knock a tree or two down! Image

ok so we will have to alot time to pulling the pickup out oftem, as long as that's in the schedule we should be good. <img src='http://www.canadianhummerclub.com/forum ... oflmao.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':rotflmao:' />

E.Coli is not an issue, we have eaten it for years, just never knew about it. <img src='http://www.canadianhummerclub.com/forum ... mellow.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' /> it adds flavor and texture! <img src='http://www.canadianhummerclub.com/forum ... rgreen.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' />

Add two more travelers to my truck. My older son is coming as is his girlfriend, she is more then ok with mud etc. So I will have a total of 4 peeps with me.
