Just remember like the HUMMER, the C series is not for everyone. I don't think AMG expects to sell a million of these trucks. More like a 1000 or so worldwide over several years. The chinese DF is 100k so i would think the original American version should be worth at least that.

In fact most decent rides out there cost in and around 100k. Lexus Jag BMW etc all have high end rides over 100k.

I know a lot of folks were hoping to get in to the game and still can because there will be a strong market for used trucks ongoing. Used Hummers are the only way for some to get in under 50k after fix ups. I for one think they priced the kit too low and expect the 2nd and 3rd runs will be more expensive once AMG figure out how much hassle this is to pull off.

I think the 60k kit is like an introductory gift offer and once those 50 are sold the price will skyrocket.

yea that is true Kevin.. if there do a 2nd or 3rd gen with a hardtop or even a slant back.. it could be interesting.. also a two man version too for the farming community..anyways the possibilities are endless..just need to see how things go.. I think the first 50 will fly off the shelves I believe...

Took Rhino into SPA today okay Roy Foss for oil change and check up and got asked if I knew anything about the Humvee C said all I know is what was told to us via club site . That it was a glider kit soft top with soft doors. Could a video conferance be set up for Sat meet with AMG to enlighten us more.

Why would existing H1 prices drop? These are Humvee kits.. not H1 kits..and the kits are not for everyone, they will not be like H1s..they will be like Humvees..the interior, exterior, etc will not look like and H1..so I am not sure if the classic H1 prices will fall..I don't foresee that but I guess anything is possible and as a current H1 owner.. that doesn't really worry me...I think this opens doors for guys that are currently retrofitting existing trucks with new engine and tranny, it gives them different avenues to go down..and a lot more choices..

The Hybrid/electric idea is interesting.. I am sure someone will jump on that...

Reasoning is simply the H1 was designed off the Humvee using Humvee chassis and such with GM diesels to non Hummerites a Humvee would be new and be a true Humvee ( how many actual H1 owners want a real Humvee) so now nitch would have H1's and C's in it so a higher supply with same demand ( Yes I took accounting/economics in University )

Ron,

I hate to say this but a video conference is not in the cards, the opportunity to have heard about this face to face was at AM General when we were there, not now, this is why we stress on how important this event is, the chances to learn and meet the top players up frnt and in person and the chance to learn first hand information that others just "hear about", you can't get this anywhere else then live at the event...we will need to see what happens before we hear from them publicy again. Canada is a bit of a smaller market for them and with the unknowns, like getting the kits into the country, or out of theirs to begin with, I think they will focus more about what they can do internally

As for Roy Foss, are they even connected to AM General in anyway at all still? - would be surprised if they had known anything as the news was broken to CHC first and it was one of our members that actually officially broke it to the Hummer communities..odd.

Time will tell on this Kit...fingers are crossed and I am sure we will hear more when the time is right..I will try to find more out and let everyone know as I do, and as rumors fly..we will hear more I am sure.

Foss has several Hummer lovers including in the shops and parts ( Always check their parts dept shop for many HUMMER cloths and accessories) They had 2 Hummer winter vests at 45.99 . Ryan wears one of our jackets as well. They also monitor the "Club " sites for all GM products past and present so I got asked. Also Foss is one of the few GM dealers still displaying Hummer branding even on their reciepts. PS while there service dept got 3 H3's and several H2's in not counting Rhino. It is one of the few that is still doing warantee work.

That is interesting as Roy Foss has not been a big supporter of CHC over the last 5+ years, even when asked or approached. maybe something hs changed there now especially if they are now joining the site and viewing the posts.

Maybe they will want to support our site and try and help out the Hummer community more..

But since this post is about the Humvee C-Series and AM General, and Roy Foss, H3s and H2s are more GM then AM General..maybe a different thread should be started to discuss them.

As far as i knew Royfoss lost Hummer's warranty service privilege to service hummer owners...that happens due to unproper or unethical practices towards the factory. i dought that they will be taking Hummvee sales since they have "reputation"
