Yeah I heard the ice break when you slid back, it was loud!



I was getting so pissed off when I lost traction and slid backwards down that hill the second time. lol, you guys probably heard me cursing away as I slid helplessly out of sight.



So I called up National 4wd again today about my compressor, again they said they would look into it and call me back... and again, never did. It must be back ordered right now and they don't want to call me back so I can cancel the order. Bah, I should have just picked up the viair compressor from modern motors... it was a bit more, but at least I would have had it by now.

How big are they and how will they handle the bigger tires?

They are known for air ride systems, but they do have portable off-road packages; although more expensive they do have much better quality components than the ARB stuff. I think the one I was looking at was around 450$

The biggest one they have is the 450P. Good enough for 37" tires.

I have no doubt there, only thing is that if I ever get the front air lockers - I'll need the ARB built in one for that. BUT - there is a larger model than the one that is with the package that probably handles the 37" tires.. just buy separately...  It has gotten awesome reviews from what I've seen...



But then again I may be left with the H2.... Sorry man but I am liking it more and more so I may take my H3 to Shaw and see what they say about consigning...



Then I may go with front air lockers for the H2 and get the same compressor.... about $3000 in total though...



Anyone up for a quick fun run this Saturday?  I'm getting the itch to try the H2 as she's never been off road yet... nothing fancy - just some quick fun...

Next weekend is out as well, I have a driving course on the 30th that is going to sap most of it.

No worries - it is short notice but I'll probably head out and have some fun...



Steve:  how would you rate it though as OEM has been criticized has it not?

I've never heard of any thing specifically wrong witht he compressore.  I think the bigger problem with the OEM unit is that it's usually attached to the OEM air bags.  They seem to have a bad reputation for developing leaks, which in turn causes the compressor to run more often and causes more wear and tear on the system.



The mounting location is a little suspect, it's right up under the ass end in amongst the trailer hitch.  It seems to be the kind of place that collects mud and dust which can't be all that good for it. 

Good news, after a week of calling in every morning asking "where is my compressor", the news today is it should be in tommorow.



Whew, that took forever!

That makes good sense... I know on the 08 and up adventures they are mounted in the trunk behind the panel with a nipple for a hose - nice set up if you ask me!
